Absolutely. Witcher 3 is bloody brilliant and a total no-brainer at the current price. I'm thinking about playing through it all again actually, though there are a lot of deals around at the moment so plenty to do already! Wolfenstein II and Divinity Original Sin 2 are now queued up as well as Overwatch that I'm dipping into regularly.

Yes, Divinity Original Sin 2 looks really interesting, I really enjoyed all the RPS coverage of it. If I wasn't playing so much Destiny 2 (with even Path Of Exile currently on the back burner), I'd be really tempted.

The last turn-based RPG that I played was probably Shadowrun Hong Kong (which was stupidly fun, if a little basic). I'd forgotten how much fun they can be, if well-executed.

I'm not far into DOS2 but it's refreshingly hard! Proper old school and requires some lateral thinking. If you wade straight into most battles you're going to get your arse handed back to you. Co-op mode looks interesting, trying to get a mate of mine to buy it. If you end up getting it and fancy some co-op, let me know.

Hah, will do. Equally, if you pick up Destiny 2 on sale, likewise :)

Yeah, even the shadowrun games did that to me, at first. They're not hard per se, but you need to be in the rhythm of turn based combat, considering when things happen, come off cooldown etc.. It's a lost art.

    @Kattefjaes

Played the W3 expansions yet? Or still on the main playthrough?

I did the base game last year, followed by immediate new game+ and some of the DLC last year some time. Doubtless it'll get revisited at some point, too.

I really liked HoS, Gaunter O'Dimm has to be one of the most well-written antagonists in video gaming history.

Witcher 3 is THE best rpg i've ever played. The depth of the storyline is really something i've never seen before.

The Red Baron quest was indeed the best storyline in witcher 3. But then again, there are so many of them. I also like the duel against the other witcher sidequest too.

Finally picked up Witcher 3 couldn’t pass it up on Steam. Very excited to check it out. Seems we have many fans here on SBAF.

Have fun! There is a mod (might be on the nexus) that lets you hotbind signs for "insta-casting". You can start playing as normal for the first couple of hours but I really found that the insta casting of signs helped make the gameplay a lot more fluid and enjoyable.

Also - be very careful with a mod called travel from anywhere or something like that, it can break the game if you do it at the wrong time. I wouldn't recommend using it on your first play-through.

Probably the less mods the better for a first play-through, but the insta cast one is nice for pc.

Picked up the Witcher 3 collection in the XBL gold sales awhile back. Just waiting for the X patch to start playing.

Baldur's Gate, a timeless classic. IMO even better with touch.

They need to port Arcanum as well. "AND I KILT HIM!"

You might be thinking of dark alliance 2, which is a completely different style of game. Baldur's Gate 2: Shadows of Amn is a timeless classic that has aged really well, especially the enhanced edition.

Side note: I remember opening BG1 to find the cardboard cd sleeve that was 6 pages to fit the 5 game discs plus room for the expansion,I've never been so excited to spend an hour installing a game!

No it's a console only spin off that doesn't even exist in the same 'series' as the actual Baldur's Gate series.

Don't want to think how painful it would be to play the actual BG without a mouse/touch.

It's a masterpiece IMO. Looking forward to Cyberpunk 2077, whenever it is ready. I try not to get hyped about games, but given CDPR's track record of improving on every big game they've released thus far, it's hard not to. Plus the cyberpunk setting is one of my favorites in both games and movies; the original Deus Ex, another masterpiece, comes immediately to mind.

Shadows of Amn is the subtitle for Baldur's Gate 2. There's also the expansion called Throne of Bhaal.

Also, I'm going to test this out, but apparently UAC-1 dacs (Modi 2 in that mode, for instance) work with the Switch. I'm going to try this out with the FX Audio DAC-X6 when I order it tomorrow. If it works, that means the Soekris dac1541 should also work.
