The Vmoda BoomPro Mic is an accessory that allows you to add a microphone to any headphones with a detachable cable terminated in a 3.5mm jack. While the primary use is for gaming it is also compatible with smartphones and tablets with a 4-pole jack, this will allow you to make handsfree calls. It's a nice little accessory that I would like but I currently don't have headphones with a 3.5mm jack. While shopping around I noticed that there really isn't a list of headphones that can use this so I am creating a comprehensive list here in case someone runs into the same issue as me. I will update this list based on what else I find and on comments from this thread. Headphones in this list must use a single detachable cable. 3.5mm is of course ideal however headphones that can accept an adapter are acceptable as well.

    Headphones with a 3.5mm jack:

    Beats-
    All full size headphones

    Fostex-
RP series? (has a 3.5 mm locking jack, might not work)

    Koss-
    SP330
    Various

    Mayflower Audio (see Fostex)-
    Fostex mods

    Mr. Speakers (see Fostex)-
    Mad Dog Pros

    Monoprice-
    8330

    Monster-
    Various

    NAD-
    HP-50

    Noontec-
    All full size headphones

    Oppo-
    PM-3

    Phillips-
    SHP9500
    Fidelio X2

    Skullcandy-
    Aviator

    V-Moda (obviously!)-
    All full size headphones

Headphones with a 2.5mm jack that can be use an adapter or easily modified:

    Audiotechica-
    ATH-M50x and variants

    Sennheiser-
    HD 598
    Various HD 5xx
    Urbanite

There's an adapter you cab get for AKGs (Q701, K712, K7XX, etc) which converts their mini-XLR jack into a 3.5mm precisely for the purpose of using the Boompro and other similar devices.

I don't know if this guy is the originator, I remember it starting off as a Kickstarter thing, but it's the link I've run across recently:

    https://www.mimic-cables.com/products/akg-3pin-mini-xlr-to-stereo-3-5mm-adapter

He'll also make all sorts of 2.5mm / 3.5mm / 1/8" / 3&4 pin (mini or not) XLR combinations so you could potentially use the Boompro with just about everything via one of those adapters.

I've not used it, just passing the info along... I still grab my Fidelio X2 or PM-3 for gaming and such, and I've got a couple Modmics lying around if I really wanted a mic'd HD600.
