Any love for affordable Japanese automatics? I'm very fond of my Orient Bambino (obviously not my photo, but I wear the same model).

Am thinking of a Seiko diver like a Seiko SKX next. But have just found out that the Cocktail Time has been re-released in different colours. I don't need another domed dressy watch... do I?

The new Seiko Cocktail time (or a well-cared-for old one) would be nice.

    ...

On another note, one of the Omega Speedmasters issued to U.S. astronauts has been found 30yrs after it was stolen from a museum:

I LOVE the Bambino, I just with they would make the second hand long enough. I mean, really, how hard would that have been?!!? Go ahead, try and not see it now. It's clearly too short.

As for autos, I've had this on my mind:

A blue enamel dial and look at the tail of the second hand! What a stunning watch. 1500 pieces world wide.

My best friend who gave me the Steinhart infected me with the interest for Seiko.

He almost made me buy their Alpinist. Yeah I keep my eyes open for a good Seiko automatic.

Wow, that has a really clean dial that is easy to read. I find that many chronos have far too busy dials, but I really like the Sinn aesthetic and presentation.

Does anyone else have an opinion on Boldr watches (https://www.boldrsupply.co/). I've got an Expedition on the way and I really like what they're doing for an under-a-grand, non-traditional tool watch.

I ALMOST supported this on Kickstarter and decided not to because I already have other preorders and I don't want to wait till next summer. (It happens, I fall in love with a watch and the wait time kills it - or other watches present themselves first!)

I have tried their explorer and it's not a bad quartz watch. Look like quality.

I understand not wanting to wait. I really like the aesthetic and they offered a WIS upgraded movement for $50 more. It just hits all the right notes for me.

This is the Louis Vuitton Tambour All Black Petite Second. It's a bit over $5,000 and that's quite a bit for a fashion watch which will look dated in a few years.

However, that is not why I'm sharing it with you today.

I'm sharing it because from the side it looks like a dog bowl:

My three dogs would be happy to drink out of that, though it's probably too small for them ;)

    This is a real watch

It's a Corum, a brand I refuse to believe anyone buys.

I bought a watch for my fiancee (will post a pic in a moment). Someone asked if this clown watch was, in fact, the watch I bought her.

I said yes, it depicts my spirit animal, Butch.

She was delighted, I was relieved and also happy. Wish me luck!

I received a watch as a Christmas present:

I'm very happy with it, It's one of those "tough solar" G-shock, perfect for working out or travel or whatever.

I showed it off to some female friends and they were all very unimpressed. One said, "maybe your fiancee gave it to you so no other woman would ever be interested in you." Ha ha ha, ouch!

At least It's not too big. An understated woman repellent. Still very happy with it!

That is a really solid choice in that line of G-Shock. Solar + Atomic clock is awesome.

G-Shocks are great when you just need something robust and functional. I'd gotten my G-Shock with the intention of just wearing it when I was working out, but it's actually so comfortable it's become my daily beater.

Have been reading about watches. I am actually starting to enjoy the reviews.

Well I caved. A Seiko 5, the 37mm is on the way. A nato-strap is next and then I take a break from buying watches for myself for at least 6 months.

    I love the nato-strap.
