Highly recommend. Some interesting ideas that you could apply to audiophilia and our sensory inputs in a few different ways, depending on your interpretation

Awesome book it's on my list to read. Right now I am reading Atlas Shrugged by Ayn Rand.

If you are also interested in another motivational book Sacred Hoops is a great one by Phil Jackson.

Best thing I've read in the last year. Should be required reading for every human.

I'm a space opera junky for the most part.

Just finished Warspite II, part of the long Ark Royal series by Christopher G Nuttall, looking forward to book 6 (Warspite III).

Another long series I really liked is The Lost Fleet of which there are 11 books now. This series is special in that the author takes special care to use realistic physics, such as time lag of light. For instance, if a ship moves a certain way across the solar system from you, you don't see it happen until hours later when the light reaches you. This has major implications on battle strategy.

Moving away from space... after watching the Amazon series 'Bosch', which was great btw, I tried some of the books. The first couple books were so-so, but the last few I've read were good to very good. The last one I read was Trunk Music, Harry Bosch #5.

I'm a fiction addict, not caring for non-fiction stuff at all. I mostly go for very long series because it gives me more time to get to know the main character, and in some cases supporting characters.

I read a ton. Mostly fantasy and sci-fi. I also delve into obscure offerings since I've read most of the common stuff. I'm currently reading the second book in the Libriomancer series.

I saw the movie quite a while ago and did not understand the ending. I also thought it was too slow. The book is much better and I finally understood the end. A favorite of mine.

Awesome novel. Very innovative and credible for it's time (and even now). Lots of detail in development.

An interesting surprise! Lots of religious implications and philosophy in the ideas exposed in this book. In lines with the transcendental human evolution ideas that seem present in the Odyssey book as well. A Clarke classic.

Such cool books, I must read 2001, Sapiens, Rendevouz with Rama and Blink.

I'm going to change it up a bit, here's a graphic novel I'm reading: A simple story about a woman who walks away from her life.

Truly well written. History, technology, science, politics, military strategy, philosophy and more. If you don't know much about the subject this one is gripping. The writing is truly engaging - like a good novel.

Thinking about starting the Dune series. Very long with lots of books. Sounds good.

Um, I'm not much of a reader, but I'm trying to get into it as it's probably a better use of my time than Reddit or similar.

I just read "Kiss" by Ted Dekker. It was all right. Easy to read.

Now I'm on The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy. Just the first book for now. It's quite entertaining and visual.

Started reading Sanderson Stormlight Archive Way of Kings. There seems to be a lot of hype on goodreads. I like the starting first chapters.

My favorite novel currently is ''The Stand'' by S. King. Unbeatable action scenes and random occurrences that draw you in.

I am half way through The Gun Slinger (The Dark Tower). Starts of kind of bizarre.. still picking up momentum.

Thanks Max. A fellow space opera junkie here. I've devoured all of Jack Campbell's (John Henry) Lost Fleet. In fact all of his books.

I'll check out the Ark Royal series with hopes it catches my like Lost Fleet did! If you've got other recommendations, I'm always on the hunt!!

Rereading "A song of ice and fire" the book series behind the TV show "a game of thrones". The author's attention to detail is absurd so I almost enjoy them more the second time which says a lot.

At he local book fair, last year (mostly Tamil) I picked up some never-read English/American classics to fix a gap or two in my education.

Currently reading: The Adventures of Tom Sawyer

I've considered doing the same thing, I just never got around to it with the exception of "To kill a mockingbird". Which in my I thought was a pretty good book.

I read the first one. It's pretty good.

As in many classic sci-fi books, I perceive robot-phobia in this one, which typically evolve into unique set of stories. That said, I don't feel fear of "artificial intelligence" is the main premise. End of the day, the major subject seems to be the destiny of humanity, as it is in many of the futuristic classics.

I also see elements of time-space control, and some reasonable techno-bable, though not as well developed as in the books by Arthur Clarke (which is one of my favorite authors). I sense some influences of Dune into Hyperion, but that could be just coincidental.

Very enjoyable. Lots of politics. But then again, it all fits well with the premises of the book.

    Another one recently read:

This is the real Matrix book. Got some critisism about what a real hacker is vs. what Gibson presents. But then again, that's kind of what you get in The Matrix, and it was IMO a pretty enjoyable.

Great choice. His non-fiction writings are quite enlightening as well.

Right now I'm on Strata by Terry Pratchett. Finished his Discworld series a few times over, and just picked this one up in a secondhand bookshop.
