LOL. Look at the picture of the woman wearing the headphones. She seems completely unimpressed!

    From EnjoyTheMusic (press release)
Tidal Force is excited to announce their worldwide debut into the high performance audio market with the introduction of their Wave 5 high-fidelity planar magnetic headphones ($299). As the growth of portable digital music continues to explode, high quality headphones are becoming increasingly popular. Tidal Force is proud to introduce the exciting Wave 5 open-backed planar magnetic headphone, which utilizes one of the most sought-after technologies by headphone enthusiast.

Tidal Force's Wave 5's planar magnetic drivers are like a crossbreed between dynamic diaphragms and electrostatic drivers. Combining the power of a dynamic driver's magnetic field with the efficiency of an electrostatic driver's thin sheet of flexible transparent film, the Wave 5's are claimed to offer an exceptionally high-end sound. Thanks to the immense control over the large but light radiating surface, planar magnetic headphones can reproduce the incredibly detailed music, yet still produce full range, balanced and dynamic sound.

These open back headphones use a powerful neodymium magnet with a 56mm driver. Maximum SPL is 100dB/1mW at 1 kHz, with a frequency response from 16Hz to 50kHz. Impedance is 42 Ohms and the headphones weight 480 grams. Tidal Force's Wave 5 planar magnetic headphones come with a 6' high-end braided headphone cord, 6.5mm connector adapter, travel case and headphone stand.

Looks like a direct rip off design from the monolith m560. But priced $100 higher for some reason.

My guess is a shared OEM rather than rip-off. Too similar in terms of design and specs. They even use similar marketing language, like "matrix double pole magnets".

I guess something we will need to figure out: does this company add any value to the M560 to make it worth $100 more

Headphone stand, braided cable. And 10 extra hurts on the high end.

Seems legit for an extra hundred clams.

Tidal Force sounds like a 90s water racing game like Wave Race or Hydro Thunder.

    Yikes!

The Tidalforce Electric Bicycle was an electric bicycle manufactured by Wavecrest Labs from 2003 until the company went out of business in 2006

Jinxed company name; not a great start!

It's either that or a brand of toilet cleaner.

Not trying to be rude or crude, but where the heck does the headphone cable go in that picture? It's like it simply disappears after it hits the top of her arms.

And have to agree, the look on her face is one of, well, let's just say it's the opposite of this...

Almost wasted to call your company Tidal Force and not bundle Tidal subscription with your products.

I had this for Dreamcast. Many many hours were sunk into that game.
