This front baffle of the speaker I am assembling today is insane, about 1.5" thick of solid aluminum

Tip rolling is serious business. On my CX300s every tip give a slightly different sound. Now I start to understand the IEM-folk...

I've got my foot in the door of a few audio worlds, but IEM's really hit the sweet spot of ease and cost of adjustment for me. Great devices. Wish I could swap the rooms of my 2CH system as easily as I can roll tips.

I like its appearance, too. Very sleek looking.
I don't quite like tons of marketing words though -- on top of cumulated disappointments of their recent highly-priced products.

Funnily enough Sony asked us if we wanted to the NA launch of this speaker the middle of July. Obviously not happening now, Sony doesn't have an ETA for NA just yet now.

I see. I'd be willing to absorb that risk (have a source for extra cups at fairly low cost), but if you don't want the liability, I understand! If you need help with the tuning, hmu

Hey, as long as you know the risks, and are OK with it, order up a set of those grills and when they come in, hit me up. We can work it out then. Oh, I'd order at least 2 sets or more. I ordered 2 and 1 set came in scratched to hell, but at least they are sending out a replacement set. Continued...

As for tuning, I just might hyu for some different material ideas once I listen to them. I've got to get some glue to attach the black part of the grill to the surround and then the surround to the cup. Once it's good and dry I'll swap the cups and give them some ear time.

Not even software could save it. Automated removal not adequate, and I don't want to spend hours doing it manually. I ordered a brand new LP. I'm only out $11, so not horrible.

$11 was the roll of the dice for buying used on eBay. The new LP cost $25 + shipping. :-|

I’m trying out AirPods Pro. I already have the original AirPods and I’m trying to decide if these are worth the cost of the upgrade.

In my experience the fit is really hit or miss, but I have no problems if I'm just going to do some rowing in the garage. For jogging they stay in 95% of the time, but that last 5% is a PITA. The AirPod Pros were great in my open floor plan office for reducing the unwanted background noise, but these days they're mostly relegated to phone call use.

I like the standard ones more. If we ever go back to how things were before and I start riding the train to work again, then I’d consider the Pros. I think the standard AirPod design is brilliant.

Well my wife wants my OG airpods so I’m keeping the pros. I have had issues with the OGs staying in my ears at times, even when not doing strenuous activity, so the pros win out. I still wish they were cheaper though, especially since they have non-replaceable batteries so I basically have to buy AppleCare to be able to get the inevitable replacements at a lower cost down the line.
