Sounds awesome. Looking forward to seeing more details soon.

Btw any plan on free-space hanging style such as K1000 or SR1a? Evan bass + Perfect open baffle will be a wonderful combo I believe..

ETA supra is about halfway between a conventional supra and an open baffle earspeaker. That's all I'll say for now.

not me, but I feel for others spending money on products that offer no return. I doubt any of these hot DACs coming out of China are much better than the $99 helm bolt dongle, if at all

Helm Bolt Dongle- I learn something every day. K4rstar, what would be on your short list for good usb (no add on to fix) dac under $500 new or used. May be downsizing my Prism.

not sure, my main DAC is SPDIF only so I use a converter for USB. I don't really think the desktop sized stuff is going to be better than the helm bolt other than I/O really. maybe keep an eye on reviews for the new geshelli DAC.

The first “high end” system I ever heard had a Carver Sonic Holography preamp in it (C-1 or ‘2 maybe?) . It was impressive but I smoked a lot of pot back then. I often wondered what my reaction would be to hear it today, but those old Carver Preamps still sell for too much for me to experiment.

Oh yay, even I could get off on that! I love the "bat stuff" tweeter! In fact, my rather sad hearing could drop the two smaller horns. And probably still love what I can hear from the other two.

I've only heard one real-horn (ex-cinema stuff) system. Unlike Joe's, it was based on low-power amplification. And it was superb.

He's lucky, though. Imagine planning an audio system for forty years only to find that you can't actually hear that much of it. Oh, ok, I know, plenty of old guys pretend. Which, in a way, is more sad.

Recs for Frequency Analyzer app for Android, free is best. I have used Audizer but it has a built in bump at 7khz.

Audizr also smooths the low octaves too much. Tried Spectroid? Free, good variety of settings.

I use my CIEM on flights. During the cabin pressurization it helps prevent my eardrums from popping. I have a bunch of ANC stuff that I went ahead and sold off since I preferred CIEM when traveling.

Thank you. I hope it passes for you too. I've had this for more than a decade now, so I've learnt to live with it by going to bed after 12. I'll probably visit a sleep clinic at some point.

@penguins, I second @EagleWings' idea of doing a sleep study guided by a doctor in a sleep clinic. Most people moderately benefit from it. And for a smaller subset, the improvements are genuinely *life-changing*—so why haven't I done it yet?!
