This was in a 'Policy Update' email yesterday, I assume all PayPal account holders will get this

@ergopower perhaps those emails were sent solely to US based accounts. Only have transaction records in my email, not in spam either.

Good, clean LPs on a decent system can be a more enjoyable listen than the same album on a good, clean CD via a good digital set-up. Duh.

I really don't care about cables -- until I have to untangle the damn things.

You should see some of the network wiring closets I have to deal with. Using 20 ft cables where 5 ft would be fine. Running cables between the rack posts! Makes me shake my head.

@Kernel Kurtz I've only managed tech teams with one or two racks at most, so once they get settled they tend to stay that way. I can only imagine the nightmare of any kind of larger operation.

I fully admit most of my issues are laziness-induced and impatience-multiplied. I just can't be arsed after a couple hours of crawling around on the floor.

I don't mind untangling cables. I don't mind untangling rope.

I do mind untangling cheap, fine chain in necklaces etc. Sometimes it can be teased apart using a couple of needles, but generally it beats me.

Thank you for the kind words it is encouraging beyond words. Maybe I will just do a poll for potential loaners that are obscure and go ahead with loaners like the CFA Supermoon which is sure to be popular.

@rhythmdevils From what I hear your mod work is really stellar and seems to have a lot of potential. Having your work as loaners I think is important, but I see no need to keep doing the board and manufacturers favors when it just costs you.

Why don't online sellers include a packing slip with their information so I can find it and buy more? WTF

    2. Qildail
When I was tube rolling Vali, I would print PDFs after every order confirmation as a matter of ritual. Kind of the same reason — because three or four different packages arriving at different times with random tube lot pulls is a great way to lose track of things.

yeah after getting tubes in the mail just wrapped in bubble wrap with no mention of the store name, item number, tube type or anything, I now put a message in the order notes to print out the item page and include it with the tubes. They usually listen. Often enough that if they don't I can find what it is by my history and what it's not and the pictures.

Insurance may cover, but I don't want to risk a higher premium. The TV was 12 years old. The Yggdrasil at the most might be $700 to fix. The deductible will make it not worth it.

That's insurance in a nutshell isn't it? Unless you have a major claim, it's not worth the collateral damage.

Hope the Yggdrasil comes back cheaper than anticipated...

Electronics aside: I'm not that fussed, as long as it isn't downright ugly...

I'd never buy a pair of speakers that wasn't good to look at, and my ideal absolutely would be beautiful woodwork. (In light or golden English Oak ;) )

I love how the back side of those speakers, like with a lot of other stuff of the era, looks like crap, and nobody cared. Today, everything has to look “good” all around even in places nobody ever sees.
