No, both cables plugged into the Jotunheim. The Joti has an input selector so it won't mess with the signal.

Ah, gotcha. Huh, its interesting how the grounding is necessary to reduce the weird noise though. Wonder what that could be caused from. Thanks though!

I know @Bill-P has posted about it in another thread, but I can't remember which one. But this is a known issue and that is the fix for it. :)

You could also fab up a cable with one TRRS and one TRS, taking 2 ground from the TRS and wiring up the XLRs with those and the + and - from the TRRS. So TRS+TRRS--> dual XLR. That would be needed for a XLR only monitor for example.

I've read that like 6 times and I can't make any damn sense of it so I'm just gonna write that down for when I'm more sober. Thanks!

My V2A infinity landed too. Very good synergy out of the SE with dark-ish headphones (Elear, EDX V2). It drives them with authority, can't wait to get my balanced cables since it seems to be better than SE...
but I have 2 issues : the blue light for gain is not working anymore (so it goes like this: white for low gain, white for mid gain & no light for high gain) and it doesn't work with the tail I got with my 1st gen Geek out , don't know why...

ha ha... You know me. Not only me, all my designer friends, no one put capacitors in signal chain (even usually it will take us more time or using bipolar power supply to make this happen)

@jexby, could you add "2A" to the title of the thread, since this has become the defacto 2A discussion thread? Helps w. the Google searches.

So I picked up the 2ASE @jowls was selling. The intent is to compare it to the 2A vanilla and see what the sonic delta is. I was really happy with the unusually high gauravidians/plankton of the V2+ infinity I picked up (seriously, better than a lot of desktop DACs I've used at far higher price points), but the stupid battery kept dying on me during use. I would spend part of my workday listening to wonderful music through it and the Andros, and then part of it charging (and of course you can't use it while it's charging).* Eventually I decided I couldn't deal and picked up the 2A, which solved that problem but didn't match the sonics of the V2+ Inf (I lost the plankton magic). I'm really hoping the 2ASE elevates the 2A beyond the V2+ Inf's guaravidians.

*Maybe I didn't charge it very long? Or perhaps there was something up with it, who knows. It's sold now.

Battery should be far far longer than 2 hrs. Think you should get a new unit.

@sphinxvc The battery should definitely last longer than 2 hours, I would say that I get about 8 - 10 hours per charge on my non infinity V2+. I would talk to LH Labs and see what they can do for you.

Edit: And you can use the V2+ units while they are charging, just give it a head start on charging before listening and whatever device you are using to charge it with needs to have a high enough output current to feed it while in use. It doesn't charge fast when using it while charging, but it can be done (it wants 1A @5V).

Well, I'm sure it's because I didn't charge it very long. Like I said, I only listen to these portable devices during a work day, so I use to just plug in when it was dead, then unplug to use. I think I learned that I don't have patience for recharging devices.

Just for the fun of it I decided to time out how long my GOV2+ battery was lasting. During the tests I turned the device on and off 9 times over 3 days, I used a mixture of low gain and high gain (driving my UERM's SE and HD650 BAL respectively), and only used the TCM filter.

My GOV2+ lasted 8 hours and 45 minutes give or take about 5 minutes to be safe.

Now time to charge it back up!

Hmm... if I plug a Geekout v2+ balanced into alo cdm via 2.5m balanced, will it have noise because of ground? As far as I'm concerned 2.5m trrs has no ground either?

So I can't be the only person experiencing this issue. Is there a timeline on this from ANYONE at LH Labs? For all the money I've spent on this, this is unacceptable the drivers don't work without a hack.
