I personally think we could go with Cherry, it's cheaper and a bit lighter. I don't think the difference in sound will be huge. They say the sound changes are "subtle". But I'm fine either way.

I can personally do any termination, I have adapters. 4-pin XLR might be the most universal? Maybe the first one who receives it can buy a cheap 4-pin xlr to 6.3mm adapter and pass along?

Sometimes it's also possible to send items without custom fees if you send them as product samples, but it varies a bit from country to county. If we order from ZMF we could ask them to maybe send it as "product review sample". We might get lucky?

it seems like something getting sent back shouldn't have a customs fee. Sort of like repairs. I'm sure some sort of documentation from ZMF would be good.

Otherwise I say we divide the customs fee by the number of participants. Then we PayPal the amount to @MrButchi to buy a place into this particular loaner.

Did some research on the import issue

    http://www.revenue.ie/en/customs/leaflets/pn83.html

Part 3 is the relevant section. There needs to be either an ATA carnet or a refundable deposit paid. The carnet looks like a hassle and probably has to be done by the manufacturer. Although ZMF may already have done this if they plan to display these at international audio shows.

That leaves paying the deposit. Assuming the first person pays the deposit the tour should probably end with that same person in order to get a refund.

Ok, so unless I get stabbed, I'll order the Eikon in Padauk with XLR, 5.5 feet cable and a supplementary set of Ori (Omni?) pads.
Also, since I have no news from @Rthomas or @pedalhead, I'll give my address for now.

@Marvey : we'll see for the financial details.

The Eikon has just been ordered a few seconds ago, with @Rthomas the first shooter.

Can a @Moderator please change the title of the thread to ZMF Eikon Loaner tour thread, and put me as OP, or should I open a new thread?

    Making it so.

I changed the author of the first post from @Rthomas to you.

    Post has been renamed.

Thanks for taking the lead on this. I am super excited for our first EU loaner!

Will an XLR -> 6.35mm adapter be included? Just want to know so I can get one before it arrives.

Not that I'm aware of. Please do get the adapter (you have some time as the unit is scheduled for shipping to @Rthomas in February).

@Marvey : thank you for your kind comment. The honour is mine, really.

@all : Will update the FIRST post of the thread with all news from now on (except for the occasional post)

Can a friend please vouch for @IceUul ?
He is part of the Vali loaner which is not SBAF insured, so I please need some guarantees for the Eikon.
    Ps: Merry Christmas yall!

After clearing with @MrButchi, wanted to formally express interest in an Eikon U.S. loaner tour after the EU tour is done. For logistics planning, I'm in the Greater Boston area. If more are interested, maybe we could do an east coast tour before shipping out to the folks in CA.

American and Canadian friends, please start declaring yourself in this thread so we can start to organize this.

FYI, don't expect it to cross the Atlantic before late May / late June, as shipping is not expected before February, and we have 11 EuroFriends who will each have it for a week.
