after more thorough listening (of the Vega) and burn-in (?), the peculiarity in the treble has disappeared for me! Great iems! superb tuning for my personal tastes. Makes me sit a listen to the music rather than just having them for some background music while doing something else.

I'm in the honeymoon phase... might explain why I'm discovering much more subtleties in my music collection with these iems and the QP1R than with the HD800/Mojo/Gungnir Multibit....

Gonna have the andro soon! Eager to see how it fares and how my impressions will correlate with all the great feedback in SBAF.

I find the P1's upper mids more funky than the Lyra. This could be a showstopper issue for some. Also the Lyra's is a bit faster in the treble wiith its own unique timbre which is different from most other DDs.

The treble of the well burned in Vega that Ken provided us was more relaxed than that of the one fresh out of the box.

That's surprising. Vega bass is widely accepted as some of the best.

I agree on the vocal and sibilance part. Vocals do feel a little sucked out. It feels crammed. TOTL IEMs should feel more like open headphones say like 64 Audio U12.

Can you tell me if the midrange improves?

I don't think I'd be wrong if I said FutureSonics bass is the best, if not one of the best, in the business. Haven't heard any IEM/CIEM that measures up to it (quality wise) in the bass department yet.

    @Grahad

Which type of Futuresonic? Can you help me with the measurement that youve been talked about

I'm using a MG6pro. I'm not sure what measurement you're referring to though.

He probably misunderstood this: "Haven't heard any IEM/CIEM that measures up to it".

I do disagree with you though, but I've mostly forgotten my experience with the MG6 that I wouldn't go too deep in debate over it.

Ah. That's ok, we can agree to disagree, we all have different ears and experiences after all.

Edit: Just to clarify, by "measure up to it" I didn't literally measure, but more of a figure of speech.

"Sorry, but the post you linked does not exist"

Well, it does exist, but not on HF anymore! That did take a bit longer than expected. Cheers

I feel compelled to write this post because of all the love the Andromedas have been getting in the 2016 Golden Schlong awards thread and elsewhere. They are indeed incredible IEMs, and I enjoyed them very much when I owned them, but there is something about my (EQ'd) Vegas that impresses me every day. They seem just as technically competent but have this engagement factor that I didn't get from the Andros.

For anyone looking at a Campfire product in the near future, it's worth A/B'ing the Vegas with other offerings.

Andromedas, for all their capability, still has that BA sound. You probably like the dynamic sound more.

You just mind want to share the EQ settings you use as well, since the Vegas IMO/IME do need quite a bit of EQ to sound 'proper'.

@Grahad - Agree with the BA versus DD perspective. Love the Vega's.

Out of curiosity what's your preferred EQ setting for the Vega?

    Cheers
