    I can't believe you didn't use your reflow station to do this - all hand soldered ! Very nicely done. I need to get myself a set of those magnifying goggles as my glasses and a magnifying glass are too much of a PIA.

    Thanks, dB. Third time's a charm! What I lack in knowledge is compensated by dogged determination.

    I started Frans' Kameleon II, today, and found my through the hole skills have deteriorated! SMDs are now easier for me after doing almost a thousand by hand.

    Yeah, I bought a nice set of magnifying goggles and an add on array of LEDs...Indispensable, and Kester liquid flux pen is the Bomb.

    I actually just linked the pictures from headfi... :p

    I remember doing turbo pascal and virtual basic. There was another one before that but I don't even remember what it was called anymore.

    I just got a mini lamp/magnifier for Christmas. Guess that means I've got an excuse to pick up a new project...

    Sj = Sh in shovel or like ch in ich (German) The first sound is used north of Stockholm and the other one south of Stockholm

    Ö = u in hurt

    Now you just need to explain how to pronounce ich (German). :) I don't think that phoneme exists in English.

    I didn't realize the regional differences in the pronunciation. I've always assumed the northern pronunciation.

    Depends on the region. My GF's father is German and there are places in the country where he straight up speaks English with the locals.

    I just like how @peranders comes in after a break (his last post from 2018) and answers a random question of mine from 2016!
