Another few items I hate to sell, but gotta build up funds. Hopefully I'll own these again down the line.

I'm selling a Gungnir Multibit in great condition that has been modified to replace one set of RCA outputs with a pair of XLR's taken straight from the DA chips. These outputs should only be used if you know what you're doing from a technical perspective. If you go to Schiit with a problem caused by plugging in to something you shouldn't have (or with questionable cables), I would expect they will laugh at you.

I can reverse the mod, but I'd really prefer to keep it as is and sell it along with Freya (yep, ok to plug into Freya). I don't want to spend another hour of life getting the front panel LEDs to line up properly with the holes haha, not to mention they render beautiful music together.

I'm also selling a stock Freya with an extra set of nice tubes. I picked them up off of ebay a short time ago under the title "Four-6SN7GTB Sylvania Chrome Top Reference Plus, Exceptionally HighTesting Quad." The virtual absence of any kind of noise with these in the Freya is remarkable.

As said earlier, I'm looking to keep these all together as a set for now. I'm asking $1,800 shipped for everything.

Damn, I'd be interested in buying the Freya alone if the set gets split up.

Do you accept kidneys as payment?

Seriously though, this is a pretty good deal. Hope it goes to a good home.

Taking account of the past, a kidney is worth an iPhone. You need to give all your kidneys (and also pancreas) for this.

Too bad those nice cables wouldn't fit out the USB hole... could keep the 2nd RCA's & looose the USB board, 2 wins!

kidding, I like how you did it!

Why would one use the Gungnir Multibit RCA outs instead of the Freya?

In this setup, yeah can't think of a use, I just mean in general-- wouldn't need to pull the whole Gungnir Multibit mainboard to desolder the rca jacks (and potentially in the future need to but them back to sell it) And the USB board you just pop back in.

Thanks for the interest, everyone, and sorry for the long delay in replying. Work got crazy for a bit, and this is my first chance to dedicate some time back at the forum.

I've replied to everyone that sent a message, I think. The set is pending, but I'll update the thread one way or the other depending on how things fall out.

To answer some questions, yeah, potentially having to put the rca jacks back in would be inconvenient. I think I'd still do it the same again, though. I like the shorter path out of the chassis and for using with freya lines up with its inputs better. Silly reasons, but nevertheless.

Also, reason for selling is some house and pet expenses that need taking care of. I think gumbreya is awesome and would prefer to keep it, but it should be easier to sell (and net me more funds at the moment) compared to my gamma 3. The y3 is a pretty great dac, so I can live with that for now.

I finally get to throw my Mytek Stereo 192 DSD out in the yard and pop a cap in it.

(Well, I might use it to feed youtube vids from the computer or something pedestrian like that)

Anyone want to buy it? it is a truly wonderful DAC. Burned-in with white noise. Non-smoking home (except pot). May have pet dander. ;)

I love this hybrid DAC. It's my favorite DAC of everything I've heard that I could reasonably afford.

One potential mod I'm working on: I'm thinking of trying to mount mini XLRs receptacles in place of one of the SE outs.

Shoot it, sign it and frame it. Then sell it a la William S. Burroughs' "Shotgun Art". :)
