Also, Merrick, could you describe the contents of the box? Please insure at $275 (if you guys think this should be more or less, let me know)

I'd say about 5-6 days per person since we haven't had a ton of requests

Pasting this to OP as well

I'd love to try one, but getting it to and from Canada would be expensive. I may just end up buying one.

I've always wanted to try one, but hear it doesn't have a ton of impact on the Modi 2U?

Marv has spoken very favorably of pairing the Wyrd wtih Modi 2, and I am pretty sure the Uber version doesn't change this opinion. He once called it a case of 1 + 1 = 3 (Wyrd and Modi 2 each being a 1, but combined they play at a 3).

Here's a thread I found at the old CS, read the latter half of Marv's post:

I remember that one, but I believe he's referring to the Modi 1, right? I remember the Modi 2 being a different story, but I could be mistaken.

He spoke of Modi 1. Modi 2 was a good step above the original modi and even though wyrd would help, it doesn't make as huge of a difference as it did with modi 1.

Thanks. I signed up using the link (seems less positive in terms of feedback than posting here - although there is a "received" screen, there is still no way to be entirely sure that the data did get to the database).

Concerning the above - DACs that use the USB power will benefit more from Wyrd or Regen, because they generate a new higher quality power source. Then there is also a USB signal cleanup that potentially all DACs benefit from.

So, there should be a greater benefit with cheaper DACs that don't plug into AC power. (The exception is HRT DACs that re-generate the USB power already.)

Just signed up too, but didn't see an option to pick which product. No interest in Wyrd (no more power cables for me thanks), but wouldn't mind an audition of the Regen.

Both are in the box, the idea was to combine the loan of both products so members could compare the effect on their system.

Wyrd and Regen do exactly the same thing - the design is similar and they have some parts in common.

Yup. Speaking of, I'm thinking of closing sign ups at the end of this upcoming weekend. So I'd say sign up now.

For whatever reason, there hasn't been a deluge for this one. Need 1 or 2 more to meet the "minimum", though we can think about what to do if we don't meet it.

    The differences I found:

Wyrd would drop out on my horrible work USB or produce distorted crackling noises. Or it wouldn't be detected. I'd have to power cycle it.

Regen fixed all of the random dropouts and static I was getting with the same setup.

It seems like the Wyrd won't fix the poop you feed it if it's too bad but the Regen will.

At home, after I realized I'd fried most of my USB ports from being on an ungrounded ancient power outlet, the Wyrd did clean up the small crackling issues I was having, as did the Regen.

I still have a Regen but sent the Wyrd on its way. If I needed it for home, I would have kept it because it's cheaper, but I needed it for work.

Guys, this loaner is a no go. Not enough people signed up.

Actually hold tight here I have an addition that might be of interest and spark the USB decrapifier sound wars. I should know more soon :)

Why is there a minimum ?? Many times, one guy loans a pair of headphones to just one friend, and then gets them back.

(But aside from that question, I'm in no hurry and willing to wait for a third item in the box.)

I'm interested if this thing is potentially still alive. I used the sign up link just now

Edit: I signed up a few days ago, but please don't include me on the final list. I ended up with a Wyrd and I'd rather not tinker with other ones for the sake of contentment :D

I'd also be very interested in this, if it were to still be possible to resurrect this from the grave.
