So this bears the question for my 500 dollars this plus a Modi Multibit would give me a good improvement over my Element until this not to be spoken about doesn't exist piece of schiit maybe or maybe not comes out next year?

Probably a noise post, but given how much non-hyping (!!) seems to be unhappening in this thread I'm probably going to put off upgrading until next year. Just so we're clear, is this a DAC or amp everyone pointedly isn't talking about? :))

Sounds bad. Marv already said why. Go here to read more: http://www.superbestaudiofriends.or...nation-units-grace-schiit-ifi-lh-jds-etc.401/

No. Replace your amp and DAC both or don't bother IMO. Don't buy the Modi Multibit as you play games. Regular Modi is good enough.

    It's an amp.

Yeah pretty much exactly what that say is wrong with it is why I don't like it

Would the minby negativity affect my gaming because the improvement I'm looking for is with music

If you really want to know, buy it and find out. If you don't like aspects of its sound, then return it. Schiit has a return policy and, failing that, you could easily re-sell.

However, I'd recommend that you start off with a Modi 2U instead of a Modi Multibit. It's a solid DAC that will provide you with a useful performance baseline should you decide to step up to something better in the future. Experience is valuable.

Hard to say since I don't know you well. Probably since you found the Element unsatisfactory.
I'd just get Modi Multibit and Vali 2. This will give you what you seek for music coming the the Element. This stack will take care of the treble fuckery and glare of the Element. It's almost an opposite approach to the Element. I figured why not, just get something rather different (and better).

The Modi Multibit is something you can build on, but it is dark sounding. Generally, I feel Vali and Modi Multibit together might be too dark or laid-back sounding, but the Vali 2 is significantly more lively and immediate sounding than Magni 2U (the Magni 2U does sound more precise and has better sub-bass). Just run neutral headphones (HD600) or headphones with a little treble peak (K7XX , HE4XX, etc.) and you will be fine.

Later, buy a used MCTH or wait for the next drop, but only if you feel the Vali is too tubey or laid-back. Before that, consider an HD600, or an HD6XX (KISS modded - as stock HD650 / HD6XX with Modi Multibit / Vali may be too bassy / laid back).

I'm a basshead so it's usually not too bassy for me unless the bass really starts to muddle the mids and treble...I like a lot of bass but I also like to keep it as separate as I can. though if I need a good shot of that for some EDM or rap I just put on the DT770s....

I'd grab Magni 2U for now. Better bass extension and bass control and articulation. Vali 2 bass is kind of soft and not as clean. Vali 2 really excels at mids with toned down highs.

A fantastic headphone that localizes strong bass (bass emphasis doesn't bleed into the mids) is the Atticus. The Atticus also happens to be normal from the mids on up with very natural timbre. It's in another price bracket, but something for you to keep in mind for the future.
