Looks to be an interesting product provided the user interface works well when taking advantage of a computer connected via ethernet. May tick quite a few boxes of things to eliminate for a good clean signal vs using a computer.

That is if the dac is respectable as well.

I had one here for a while. You perform setup and most of the control is done via the iOS or Android app, with some stuff available by using the physical dial on the front. Recent firmware updates addressed some playback and network issues, and improved the jitter performance after Archimago reported some anomalies.

The lack of gapless playback in stream mode was a deal breaker for me. Have they fixed this?

I was mostly using AirPlay streaming so I don't think I tried the specific scenario you're asking about. Maybe ask OPPO support?

Had mine about 2 months...purchased slightly used.

Outperformed my Ifi dsd micro across the board. No big deal since I expected that. Main weakness a bit dynamically compressed according to reviews and maybe lacking a bit of PRAT but very neutral. Solid bass, excellent midrange, maybe a slight loss of air and extension at the highest frequencies. But very balanced and musical. Very good width...not bad on depth and height. Layering quite good.

    Really liked it!

I was waiting for Ric at EVS to finish his modification prototype. I bought the Sonica based on his recommendation.

There are a few mods out there. Up to $2400 for the Modwright. Ric's is $600 single ended and $750 balanced If anyone is interested I will do a brief review.

The difference in performance is substantial. Easily worth more than what he charges!

    Happy Listening
