    - 20 ohms / 101db
    - No Fazor
    - Magnesium cups & carbon fiber headband
    - Same sound as Pre-Fazor LCD-2?
    - $599

Fuark, Audeze being down to earth and listening to people without 2x the price? Awesome.

Unlikely. The change in sound during "Fazor" was not really the Fazor. Different diaphragm for better reliability, but didn't sound the same. Consistency was still a question back then - although can't attest to how good or bad it might be now.

I'm always a little cautious with new Audeze products. We will see. Or hear I should say.

Should I officially ask for a SBAF loaner, starting with @Marvey comparing them to Craig's unicorn?

It's a shame, the pre-fazor LCD 2 might have been the last LCD that I enjoyed. If they could nail that sound with less weight, price and unreliability, it'd be seriously tempting.

I adore the concept of this, but I’m preparing myself for disappointment. Every non wood ring LCD has been yeeeesh IMO.

If you do let me know, I'm already shooting out PM's to try and get my hands on these! I've never officially featured any Audeze product online... only once like 4 years ago as a sketchy demo from a Head Fi buddy. Either way at THIS price point, I want to hear it! I was really gunning for an LCD 2 2017 Fazor earlier this year... if this has the Pre Fazor sound at that price it might make a nice addition in my collection. I don't own a single efficent planar

If they could make an LCD model for this price that sounds like Craig's, and was reliable, they would clean up. Highly unlikely given the Audeze track record, but hey people do see unicorns from time to time. Or the Koss KSC-75's all the time.

Dang, I wish I knew about this at RMAF. Would have checked them out. But the Audeze guy that wears the lab coat turns me off a lot.

I'm hoping the reviews are good before Febraury. If they are, in buying this next to the Autuer for nostalgia reasons. USPS may have lost my LCD 2 pre razor, but I will relive one of the few orthos I likw.

Looking forward to hearing this. I have some very fond memories of certain LCD-2 prefazors that were good samples in years past. Hoping they can recapture some of that magic.

Does anybody knows the weight of the new LCD-2 Classic?
I guess, it is lighter than the old LCD-2 pre fazor. Its weight was about 490 gramm. The weight of the 4 fazor elements was about 50 gramm.

Price of 599 USD is very interesting. But I guess, it has pleather pads and headband..? because of the price...?
    I don't know.

btw. I think, the "classic" could be a reaction from Audeze because of the Monoprice M1060...;)

P.S. the headband is not carbon.

Ironically, I had just put on a pair of pre-fazor LCD2's for the first time in a long time when I saw this thread. If they can match or perhaps even improve on the sound quality of the original at $599, I'd be tempted to buy one. Easier to drive with a bit more comfort would make it a really attractive option.

Why didn't Audeze list the weight of the LCD2C on their site? That's the most important spec for their headphones.

I think it’s safe to assume “neck cramp” is the weight of any Audez’e headphone. Of course some cramps are more severe than others...

"Yeeeesh," with respect to how they sound? I thought that I'd read that the aluminum LCD-2's didn't sound any different from the wood ones, though I was a bit skeptical of that claim at the time, and I have no idea how credible the source of that opinion was. I'd be interested to hear an opinion to the contrary.

I mean the LCD-X and XC.

They weren’t “bad” but... that Audez’e midrange magic was all but gone on the ones I heard, replaced by a rather Hollow, sucked out midrange that made me want to constantly turn the volume up (at which point the sound would get fatiguing—something I never thought I’d say about an Audez’e ‘phone—so I’d have to turn the volume back down).

I *hope* the LCD-2C sounds like the older LCD-2, but maybe not the ooooold old LCD-2 (aka the “rev. 1”) which was a bit TOO dark on a lot of amps.

Edit. Just noticed my autocorrect likes to capitalize “Hollow.” As a Dark Souls fan this doesn’t surprise me...
