I find it funny that the book was based on the screenplay instead of the other way around.

Thank you so much for this recommendation! I'm 5 arcs in and am completely enamored with the story. Unbelievably creative writing going on there.

I found out yesterday that I own a copy of "Man's search for meaning" by Viktor Frankl- something that I have wanted to read for a while. It's a slim volume, but I don't intend to rush it.

Remarkable book. i read it first time when I was young, and my wife and me are reading it again. Entirely different perspective: the first time it was like an abstraction, this time Frankl's statement: "It is not important what you want from life, but what life demands from you" has very real meaning. It may not be the exact quote.

Currently reading Neil Gaiman's - Norse Mythology. It's quite funny in places and not po-faced at all.

Great series, some of my favorite characters ever. I really appreciate the unique individual voices of each character's POV, so often authors use multiple characters to tell the story but it reads the same with different names. The First Law really feels like a story being told by different people.

I agree, amazing characters and character development. The story isn't that special overall but the characters more than make up for it! There must be 50 or so characters that are all relevant to the main plot but because they're so vibrant you easily remember all of them!

I've seen that there are three more books set in the same universe, those will be my next read.

I’ve been really enjoying William Gibson lately. Stumbled upon the book Zero History on the electronic library and then realized after I read it that it was #3 in the Blue Ant trilogy. Went back and read Pattern Recognition and now starting #2 Spook Country. He’s a great writer.

Not as good as the original trilogy, but still fun. Read them in order, I thought they were stand alone novels, but there is some continuity.

After watching and enjoying Netflix's adaptation of Altered Carbon, I am now reading the books.

Getting back into books again. Recently read Jacoba van Velde's "De Grote Zaal" a.k.a. "The Big Hall" and now reading Tolstoy's "The Death Of Ivan Ilyich." First some small novels before I start reading a big one again.

Interesting story, I listened to an extensive interview with him on NPR detailing what happened to the lawyer couple years ago. Fascinating and frightening, I suppose not that shocking. Will put on my reading list.

I didn't realize there were books - I'll have to look those up. I got caught up on The Expanse and started reading the books. They cast the show pretty well but the books are less melodramatic, which I prefer. I'm now almost caught up on the books and will have to wait until December for the new one to come out. This is why I used to only read or watch series that were complete.

Sadly approaching the end of The Wheel of Time series. My uncle gave me the first book when I was in 6th grade and I followed the series until 9th grade, when I decided to attempt being cool and therefore stopped reading fantasy. Now in my late 30's really enjoying the re-read of this series. I held off for a while thinking it couldn't be that good if 12-15 year old me liked it, but I'm glad I gave it a second chance.

Any Murakami fan here? Currently reading 'Hard Boiled Wonderland and the End of the World.' Definitely different from his other books that I have read- Norwegian Wood, The Wind Up Bird Chronicle, 1Q84, Kafka on the Shore. I kind of miss his lonely detached characters.

Yes, he is my favorite author in the last few years. I've read Norwegian Wood, South of the Border West of the Sun, Men Without Women, and What I Talk About When I Talk About Running. I love them all.
