That looks fantastic. Audeze'ish, but less extreme of a dip (guessing as Y-axis numbers are blurry), which is a good thing.

Dude... 300$ bucks, I understand the "fake wood" complain for something that costs 3000$, like the Hifiman HE-1000, but for 300$? Look at the graph @cskippy posted, the thing looks legit and very good for the price and being produced by only one person.

    Thanks for understanding ;)
Sure not made by one person. I would describe these headphones as designed by one person (Me :drunk:).
Of course I've ordered parts from others. I've spent 2 years not only to achieve good sound but to make the design as cost-effective and simple as I can.
And again about "fake wood" and 300 bucks - I can make cups from real wood and it would be cheaper and maybe more fancy looking. I've chosen plastic for one reason - to make a thin wall and install the biggest driver I can.

That's not my point. Price has nothing to do with my point, and at no point did I mention price. We have a MOT saying that the plastic piece isn't fake wood because "Fake by definition is claiming to be something that one is not." So, because @Garuspik is NOT claiming that it is fake wood, that this makes it not-fake wood. Let's think about that...

The plastic looks like wood. Yet, it is not wood. Hmm...

Garuspik can obfuscate my point with Webster definitions all he wants, but plastic that looks like wood is fake wood. I don't like the look of fake wood. That's the whole point I was trying to make. So, he take my constructive criticism for what it's worth (or not, I couldn't give a f**k at this point) and understand that there are people out there who won't like that cosmetic choice.

Hmm.... English isn't a native language to you also? ;)
Oxford dictionary definition of fake: "claiming to be something that one is not."
If I was claiming that earcups are from real wood than you can really call them to be made from fake food.
If I'm claiming they're made from plastic with wooden texture than they can't be called a fake wood :D
Fake is a companion of deceit in my understanding.

I'm not flexible enough to do that, can you share your experience how you've solved that problem?

Ok Ok...Elnrik does not like plastic looking like wood as an aesthetic choice.

    Let's move on.

To clarify, assuming this was only due to a language barrier, and not smart-assery. Although it may not be technically correct people will sometimes within this context use “fake” in place of “imitation”. So instead of saying imitation wood, or wood effect, people may just use the term fake wood, without implying deceipt.

So others can see alternatives with their own eyes:

A few questions for you, @Garuspik:
    1. How much do these weigh?
    2. How long does it take you to build a pair by hand, drivers and all, from scratch?
    3. What are your yields like for driver matching, ie how many drivers do you have to build to find a closely matching pair?

I’m looking forward to those impressions, @cskippy.

Elnrik is having a bad fake-wood day
Garuspik knows how to handle people who are having a bad day.

I want my pair in Cardig Fug. Maybe with Stanky Bean highlights, if they don't cost extra. Or... Stoner Blue would be nice.

Heathen. Its called Verum so obviously it had to be wine coloured. Fake, alcohol-free wine of course!

@Garuspik is your current driver the same as the one in the image except even numbers of traces?

Are the unconnected traces there for mass? Why it be better to rework the pathing to connect that part? It seems to cover a good 15% of the exposed part of the driver, so there must be a reason you haven't :)

Seeing the words plastic and thin-wall always brings to mind problems of resonance. What have you done to address this in your design?

@purr1n Here is an average response vs LCD2C:

Pretty much what I wanted LCD2C to be tuned like.

Wow. The difference looks like my equalization for lcd2c currently.. I thought LCD2C at $599 was a steal.. Verum at $300 seems to be much more than a steal!

Indeed! Lower 1-2kHz and less depression from 3-5kHz would just about right.

@Garuspik: Please keep a few of us in mind!
