I use it with a Mac no problem. Depending on which Mac, you might need a USB adapter.

Hey, not sure if you're issue is resolved but I am running Windows 10 w/OS build 17134.48 (Latest) and I don't have any driver issues over USB. Plug and play after I installed the Madi drivers. PM if you want.

Has any been able to get the digicheck software working with the Mac? When I tried it, the software didn’t seem to find the DAC.

When I open the "Audio Device Select" menu it lists "ADI-2 Pro (####)" in the RME device gadget. I haven't really tried to see if it does anything though.

I just picked up one of these used at a minor discount. Has anyone used it with an Auralic Taurus MKII? Does anyone here even use the Taurus MKII? I'll be pairing it with a Focal Clear. I cannot imagine I won't like this combo. The Taurus was a perfect match for my tastes with the Elear for the past 12 months. I committed sometime ago to never using DS DACs again, but this thing was just too enticing to not try it.

  12. same here. after one week on burn in mine will go against Ares + NFB-1AMP and questyle 400i next weekend.

I grew very fond of my RME ADI-2 DAC very quickly when I set it up a month ago. Feels like it's been longer. Initially I felt it was a slightly less natural sounding than the Onyx. That probably remains true, but I got over it by the next day.

It is kind of nice how the ADI-2 DAC caused me to quickly get over my pursuit of 2k+ DACs and headphone amps. I won't claim it to be the absolute best DAC or headphone amp, but it does sound excellent to my ears and has a lot of features I find useful at a very fair price. Never before has my desktop audio experience been so convenient. That holds considerable value to me.

Admittedly my hearing is probably scuffed as I feel I heard more obvious differences between the ADI-2 DAC and Onyx than I did comparing when the ADI-2 DAC headphone output to the iFi Pro iCan, Garage1217 Polaris, and Cayin IHA-6. That said, if I did go for a dedicated solid state amp again I'd definitely choose the Polaris for the features and price tag.

Yes, I have the Pro model. I don't know what you should experience with the DAC model, but the DAC model manual implies that DigiCheck should be compatible.

so turns out the Questyle 400i does have a noticeably softer presentation compared with many others including Gimby, denafrips ARES, and even RME ADI but in my book it is an awesome thing and as a hint to my personal taste i am yet to encounter a source that is too warm. i got cma 400i + Senn HD650 and i still wish the sound could be a bit on the warmer side lol.

Denafrips and audio-gd are out and good riddance the 1AMP looked so good on paper but was the biggest let down yet sonically as far as audio-gd gear is concerned and i thought that the volume was gonna be a revelation in transparency but it turned out to be a pain mostly. i cant wait to get an amp so i can try both the questyle and the RME as dac only with my omegas. anyone has a loaner amp wanna send to PA to be auditioned with some 5 top notch DACs inclusing the RME ADI2 DAC?

  18. Right around 2 minutes and 50 seconds there's a passage where his voice becomes high pitched and every single ESS DAc turns it into soul crushing garbage, through the RME ADI2 and also Questyle 400i it is so smooth and beautiful. i love it.

    Hey everyone.
I just got my hands on HD800S last week and this unit is on the top of the (short) list.
Can anyone speak on this pairing.
Also, I have a set of E-MU Treak's, if anyone has info on these, that would be appreciated.
Lastly, does anyone use this as a standalone unit?
One more for the road: Does anyone regret their purchase?!
    Thanks a lot!
    James

I got a response back from RME about DigiCheck on the Mac. Right now it only works with the SPDIF input. I asked if it will ever work wit the USB input. Their response:
