I've recently decided to come back to Roon. Suddenly I experience issues with my Lynx AES16 card (output over AES). More often than I'm willing to accept, I don't get any sound, and the ADI-2P doesn't seem to get an input, although Roon seems to be playing music without errors.
When I play over jRiver it all works well...

...and USB works every time. It seems that if I open jRiver and starts playback, something happens with Roon. I then have to reboot computer to get sound back in Roon over AES. Weird.

Do you have multiple inputs hooked up to the ADI-2 Pro? I've had issues where I don't get sound when I have had both USB and AES connected, and it ended up being because of the clock source being defaulted to the integrated (the clock for usb) when the clock is put in auto mode. I haven't used jRiver extensively, but it could be that jRiver is more sophisticated with the clock source options compared to Roon.

    I’ve only used AES.

Just curious if anyone has used the adi-2 dac without a PC (usb connection). I would be using coax and optical and just wanted to make sure I wouldn’t have any issues.

    Thanks

I've used it with my interface via coax and optical from Xbox One in stereo, no issues for me.

I use optical from my Sonos to ADI-2-DAC. No issues.

I have used all inputs and had no issues. Have to use USB for firmware updates obviously.

I don't own an ADI-2-anything, but... I'd be sadly surprised at any any basic-functional deficiency in an RME product. They are pros making kit for pros! I like them almost as much as I like microfibre!

Unless it leads to xenophobia in audio gear reviewing tendencies, causing strong and illogical biases, an ignorance in the overall diversity of audio equipment, and a lack of experience that would qualify one to intelligently speak about (let alone criticize) a DAC one clearly has no experience with on an audio forum with members infinitely more capable of intelligent written discourse on the topic.

Also - Maybe you shouldn't necro every little post that catches your fancy. =)

    Good answer ;)

Ah, I see a pattern emerging. You seem to have too much time on your hands and not enough productive things to do with it. Maybe you should spend less time worrying about (and attacking, in your own delicate way) what other people say and spend more time on self improvement :p

I'm new so all the threads are new to me. I can't really help it that I was doing other things when those posters posted what they posted ;) And if it's not relevant maybe you should ask the site owner to expire threads that have violated your sensibilities with respect to how old they are.

    Have a nice day!

Funny you take that route with it. You can't attack my point, so you attack my person. Quality character there.

We tend to like more signal than noise, and the majority of your posts are noise. Case in point - this thread and the useless k.e drama: no one needs this brought up again, and you contributed nothing by doing so.

    I agree with Jerry.

Great, you must be right because there are two of you. At the same time it's hard to understand how my posts are noise yet your passive-aggressive style is fine and you have all the time in the world to argue. Just run along and find something more productive.
