"NUANCES WERE POPPING OUT TO THE SIDE!" He means they were hard panned? That's what 100% to the right or left does.

I am in the exact same boat (or singles bar, I guess). A brand new Gungnir Multibit sitting on my desk waiting for the Carbon to join. I just stare at the tiny white LED and try not to get too impatient.

At least your DACs will be properly warmed up to optimal conditions by the time LC amp arrives!

Being partial to DIY'ers, I find his system to be GLORIOUS! [IMG]. He posts pix of his system and it is unique.

Also, Gungnir Multibit at a singles bar...

Well I for one enjoy my DAC 19 with Amanero combo384 and prefer it over all the Schiit DACs I've heard. I have not heard the Yggdrasil though. I think preference is key here so I'm not gonna call it better. Would love to hear the Master 7 but I don't feel the need to upgrade anytime soon. Hopefully Liquid Carbon will be a great match and serve my trusty HD650 well. And maybe HD800S.

Heptagram on the DACs and amps used would explain a lot.

LOL. I read that in what I imagine to be Kingwa's accent.

    LOL.

I pop in there from time to time to see what is new and check out the FS forums. Pretty much nothing else since I don't have time to DIY anymore. I guess I am enough of a veteran of the internet to not have too hard a time sorting through the noise there and most other sites. I save my rage for people I can actually scream at in real life.

I like to spend time there helping the newbies, and occasionally lending a hand sorting basic system set-up difficulties. There is a lot of good information on HF if you sort the wheat from the chaff.

Still subscribed to a few threads of interest and may buy and sell there.

Wonder if anyone else has this problem specifically while browsing HF: on my Mac, Chrome becomes almost totally unresponsive due to what I'm guessing is so much crap loading/running on the thread pages. Firefox is more stable. (The Mac is not underpowered.)

There are still reasons to visit head-fi, but some of the threads there are really out of control. Honestly, I think the shills, the crazies and the newbs, who are desperate to participate and emphatically recommend gear they have never heard (or who lack the requisite experience with other gear to form a basis for any recommendation), are much bigger overall problem than the occasional censorship, however infuriating.

I still enjoy a couple of the bottlehead threads, among others with relatively decent SNR. Then I find myself making the grievous mistake of trying to catch up with the Yggdrasil "impressions" thread - the last several pages of which consist of a veritable circle jerk between shills pimping isolation feet with claims that they really improve the Yggdrasil's resolution.... Words fail me. I'm not sure whether there are actually any active end users still participating or whether the whole damn thread is made up of Rick Shultz minions and wannabees pushing tweaks. It fills me with relief to ctrl-W and return to SBAF.

    Heh, all Macs are underpowered.

Probably time to use a content blocker. uBlock Origin does the trick in most cases..

Can we invite this guy over to SBAF? I mean, what a beautiful takedown of Music Alchemist, who's in every single thread in HF.

That graph the music alchemist posted for the m50x doesn't look that bad to me. Sure it's not hifi but it's pretty good for a portable closed headphone with no functionality issues for listening, only for tracking.

Well... iLIVEforMUSIC does need to experience better headphones than the m50x. Maybe we can help him with that.
