We are now accepting pre-orders for the ECP Audio T4 Headphone Amplifier.

The next evolution beyond the popular T3 headphone amplifier, the T4 takes things a step further with the following:
    • SMD differential circuit with all CCS components SMD-based on the same PCB. An integrated thermal bar sinks heat directly through the casework for optimum heat dissipation.
    • ECP Audio custom-designed Lundahl output transformers, optimized for 75 and 300 ohm loads (switchable).
    • ECP Audio's famous casework with hand-rubbed, oil finish wood sides.
    • SumR toroidal power transformer.
Many more features are included. The same tube family as with the T3 is used - 12AY7 or 12AT7 basis, with many, many more equivalents possible. (Pics below show GE clear-top 5965 tubes.)

    Questions?
    1. Why Lundahl output transformers? They're better.
    2. Why 75 ohms on the low Z side instead of 32 ohms? Focal headphones
    3. Why XLR output connector? Superior, non-shorting, double grounded connection. Adapter cables will be available.[IMG]

Note: the production prototype above used a yellow PCB. The production models are red.

I don't think you guys did this intentionally, but the headline price seems misleading to me. Buyers shouldn't have to read the fine print to realize $1100 only covers 50% of the purchase price. Maybe the product you add to cart could be labeled "T4 Headphone Amplifier Deposit." This is especially important because the $1100 is non-refundable. As it is, I think there is too much potential for somebody who's overly excited to add it to their cart and plunk down $1100 without realizing their actually on the hook for $2200 total. When I pre-order something, I don't generally expect to have to pay additional money for it. Not trying to be overly critical, just trying to prevent potential buyers from running into headaches.

The Bold price above the amp pictures should say $2,200.

The clarification text should say that you require a 50% deposit.

The information's all there, you've just gone about it backwards.

Unfortunately - if I change that, the pre-order will be forced to $2200. What you point out is not just a text item, but the actual amount required to complete the pre-order sale.

Thanks for your suggestion, but I'll just have to follow up with each customer to make sure this is clear.

Glad to see this amp is finally here! I do not wish to pull focus from the T4 but one quick question... i remember awhile back there was talk of releasing another similar amp around the same time as the T4, possibly T5...is that still in the works and if so is there any updated info on it? Thanks!

The T5 is still under development, but it won't be ready for a while. The current focus is on getting the T4 out the door. Once that is accomplished, I'll return to T5 work - hopefully this fall. When (and if) it is ready, it will be a considerably more expensive amplifier (at least double the price.)

Is casework finalised? I can’t seem to find dimensions anywhere. Not that I need another amp in my life. Just... curious.

Does it sound twice as good as a T3? It looks great! Lundhals probably have great FR. SMD + thermal bar is a clever approach to thermal management.

Definitely interested in the T4. Will there be an option for a brushed aluminum finish like other ECP amps?

Looks like I was able to fix the listing title on Beezar to make it clearer ($1100 deposit vs. $2200 full price). I also discovered a mistake in the stock listing. I was trying to show that built/finished amplifiers would be available by 9/30/2018, but it was resulting in the pre-order showing as out-of-stock until that time. Hopefully, that's fixed. Please let me know if you experience any issues with Beezar.

    Looks sweet.

One minor note, text on the web site says "low and high-impedance loads (60 to 300 ohms).", but in the first post here it says 75/300. Might want to edit the incorrect one.

Is the round orange thing on the top a pass through for the light I think I see on the front of the case? Is that a "power is on" light?
