I have a nice Olympus camera so I can record it. I'll be in Michigan from the 10th to the 18th next month for Woodward Dream Cruise and I have places up there I can do it easier. I have tons of 7.62 to give it a good beating.

Slo-mo is beyond my ham fisted ability.

This will indeed be documented, and there will be at least 3 tests of destruction.

Who want's to edit the video? It will be shot with an iPhone, and a soundtrack should be played... Something fitting. We need a poll for a song that will be played during the Orca's last stand.

 

Can you burn them when it’s over?

Off topic a little, but could fill them with tannerite, Hook them up to a shitty small amp, inverter and car battery, play whatever you want......and rifle...

 

GUESS WHAT !!! They have arrived... Resistance is futile, total destruction is imminent. I was thinking of a 4 course menu of destruction with the grand finally held at a fire pit on Huntington Beach (possible micro meet). It will take a week or two to accomplish the torture and execution, different locations, labor day weekend etc (I was thinking the final burn taking place the week after Labor day to avoid crowds and family plans).

Until then, they will be used as super tweeters with their big bros. They actually do ok in that role, using the same L-pad as the T500mkII's.


I should have a pair of Russian Viawave GRT-145 (waiting on the 8ohm version) ribbon tweeters in my hands within a few weeks to replace the now long gone Fostex T500mkII that were sold back to the original owner. I couldn't do anything else from the Fostex line after comparing them to the 2nd top of the line T900... I'll try something new and get back to you guys on how they work out.

One last request, how should I document the destruction, chapters or one continuous vid?

EDIT: @Cspirou going to purchase from Viawave USA in the link above. When I spoke with him a week ago. He said they had just been ordered from Russia, and were 2-3 weeks out. I originally contacted him in April asking for an 8 ohm version, and he said in August they would be available.

Those Viawave tweeters seem pretty sweet. Where did you source them?

 

If you can manage, multiple cameras running from different angles will allow for a much more dynamic finished video. Can any CA SBAF homies with nice cameras help out with the camera work?

 

Chapter 1




The smell of burnt electronics wafted through the air and the Orca's will never be the same again.

The high fire hazard and closure of several top secret forestry roads prevented further destruction today. More pandemonium to ensue shortly with the help of my friends drone, and a unique set of tools, and tests.

@purr1n Hope you get a chuckle and it doesn't hurt too much if you do.

Stay tuned for chapter 2 most likely tomorrow, and a few more in the days and weeks to come.

I was thinking of a contest for people to compile the video footage with a soundtrack when I'm done (probably 4-5 more chapters to follow, and the winner taking an urn full of the remains of the Orca home as a prize. @LetMeBeFrank cough cough

 

I have access to a 4Kp600 camera, but sadly, I'm on the wrong continent to help.
