@msommers Raidho will probably close soon
    http://www.audioshark.org/raidho-acoustics-75/more-changes-raidho-rune-skov-departs-15185.html

The original designer will launch a new brand called "Børresen Acoustics", seeing how low the price (compared to retail prices) for second hand (or stock clearance) of Raidho speakers are, probably you'll be able to get one at a stupidly low price if Raidho closes it's doors.
Also, the tweeter was available for DIYers until a couple of years ago, search for "Raidho FTT75 ribbon tweeter"

Sorry I didn't post earlier, but I'm not going to make it this weekend. Someone has to hold down the fort at the shop and we're already short-staffed, and with a few people on vacation, they can't afford for me to leave. That, plus last-minute travel is expensive, and I'm a bit tight on expendable income (don't even have a real bed to sleep on yet, paying off moving debts).

That being said, Kevin and Craig will be there in room 1013 + 1015, just with Primaluna as we're their national distributor.

Sorry to everyone hoping to see me, and especially to the manufacturers I've been communicating with via email and phone whose products we'll be soon stocking. So many hands I needed to shake...

And especially sorry to @zach915m , I'm sure your new prototypes are going to slay it. Hope I get to hear them myself soon - I've had the Auteur on loaner for two days now and I can't even imagine what you've pulled off with the new offerings. Also - perf Eikon pads are killer on the HE-6. Curious about cowhide pancakes too... What do you actually do to your pads to make them sound better than all the others out there? Be sure to listen to something other than Diana Krall, Hotel California, and Daft Punk in my honor.

Is there a HTWFAIP table for people that nobody wants to sit next to?

Wow amazing news, I've been interested on that one since a couple of years ago, after reading the 6moons factory report where they talk about a prototype ribbon headphone (published in 2008! o_O), please someone post a pic of the headphones and if possible some impressions :p

Not sure how well this picture will came out, but here is flyer that rode around in my back pocket for most of the day yesterday. While I'm not sure this is "end game" by RMAF standards, Shiit continued tradition of having room that sounded better than many $100k + setups. Nice set of monos and a single would be perfect for someone looking to drive more efficient speakers or speakers in a smaller space. Nicely done

That is a good point, it’s first 10 watts class A. I don’t know how many in mono

They’re are ear speakers like the spheres. Impossible to hear them properly at the show. The metal bands will get some padding. $3500.

The Aegir looks seriously interesting. Being more efficient, I assume it will be less of a bear in terms of cooling, safety cutouts and the other things that the Vidar is known for?

(I ask because there's a good chance that someone around here has been secretly playing with one or more for a while..)

    Thanks buddy!
Do you know if that black box that says "Raal Requisite" is a transformer or an amplifier?
Ribbons typically have a linear impedance of 0.01 ohms, so it needs:

    A) The mother of all transconductance amps, making it a closed setup, like happens with Stax headphones and their energizers.

    B) A transformer to bring the impedance to a healthy number, so it can be used with any amp. Raal ribbon tweeters have an amorphous core transformer incorporated for that, but the weight for each transformer is 7 pounds in case of the 140-15D AM tweeter, that's 6 times an Audeze headphone for each ribbon lol.

    Which one is it?

    Looks like a rough prototype (I hope it's a prototype! :D)

I really liked the RAALs, among the best things I heard in the canjam hall. The convertor box is to protect a normal speaker amp. It's caps/resistors, not a transformer. The ribbon motor was quick swap for easy replacement repair and the drivers were quoted as $50 a pop if you blow them. Felt they sounded extremely open and very impactful bass, also found them fairly comfortable.
