Yeah, something like that. This is exactly what happened:

    1. I plugged in GO2A SE, proceeded to turn on DFU app and clicked on "Start"
    2. It stalled indefinitely at "starting upgrade" so... I clicked "Canceled" and unplugged GO2A SE
    3. Did step 1 again. GO2A SE still identified as 2.00 at this point.
    4. Upgrade failed "WRITE ERROR!" (can't remember the rest of the error)
    5. Unplugged GO2A SE and plugged it back in: firmware 1.5

So... that's that. I have a GO2A SE on 1.5 now. It's basically perfect ergonomically, and I can also force high gain, finally. HD800 loves high gain. My GO2A Infinity will probably remain as a backup for the next long while.

Sounds like the gimmicks from old 80s arcade games: go to the right edge of the screen, press jump and.. Welcome to the next level :)

I'm with you. I'd reckon that combined, my GOs have gotten more ear time than any other piece of portable audio equipment I've ever owned. It's the perfect product for me because a do a ton of work on the go in public spaces and it gives me as good sound as I can possibly imagine being able to toss in my messenger bag and inconspicuously use in public.

I haven't had a negative experience with LH so my only (selfish) concern with them is that after screwing so many over they'll go under and I'll have to look elsewhere for my next USB DAC/AMP thingy.

I currently have 1.5 firmware installed on my GOV2+ Infinity, and there are pops through headphones when switching between files of different sample rates. Does anyone know if 2.1 fixes this issue?

Can someone please call me crazy? I think my GO2A sounds better out of my thinkpad on battery rather than plugged in. Less harsh and digital sounding.

    Have I lost it?

I find them somewhat sensitive to electrical noise, and have seen a difference running off a powered hub vs out of a USB port (Thinkpad X1 Carbon from a few years ago).

Anyone have any idea about how to open the chassis of a GOV2+?

That's the 3d printed version if you/I have the naming correct. There is no non-destructive way, you have to crack it open.

I'm so pissed these things aren't going to get made or improved anymore. Someone should buy this "division" from LH. Paging Ken Ball.

I recently picked up a GOV2+ SE and it has the original firmware. I've read through this thread and pinged a couple of individuals but haven't been able to find anyone that has the updated version.

Does anyone happen to have GOV2+ SE firmware v2.1 stashed on an old hard drive somewhere that they might be open to sharing? Thanks!

Fwiw I prefer 1.5 and there's some evidence you can't downgrade on the GO2A units. If you search I believe I did post a link to a collection of GO firmware many months ago. V2+ might be on that page.

Thanks for the head's up. I did see the below link, but it appears that the highest version listed for G0V2+ is v1.5, unfortunately. Was there another link that I may have missed?

I also had some concern based on a few other posts that the firmware for GOV2+ may not be compatible with GOV2+ SE so I was trying to see if I could track down the SE version of v2.1

I believe that's it...I'll take a look at home to see if I have anything else, but I doubt it. Will confirm though. Maybe @jexby can help? He has GO2Pro SE which is the successor so there's a slim chance.

Can you use the GO as a DAC for speakers? How do you override the amp section?

It stops getting louder. I ran my Genelecs balanced from GO2A for months. Not bad.
