For a brief moment I thought it was going to be some type of digital EQ/expander/effects/processor that somehow incorporates the mega combo burrito filter for mathematical wangling.

I'm still much more interested in the speaker amp because it'll be the only product Schiit offers that can power the HE-6 due to it having the correct connectors.

The latest chapter of Schiit was just posted yesterday. Here's the link: http://www.head-fi.org/t/701900/sch...s-most-improbable-start-up/9240#post_12187694

We're finally going to be seeing some 2ch products from schiit! I'm pretty excited about that, since there are so many options out there but it's so hard to choose between them. At least with Schiit, it's almost guaranteed to be good. Of course I'm excited about the other new products and secret as well, but... I'll reserve my hype til I know what they actually are.

Yep, kind of excited by the 2 channel announcement, though I doubt they will make one small enough for me. Here's hoping for something at least as small as a Bifrost.

I'm a little confused... are the Rag and all their dacs not already 2 channel products?

Dedicated speaker amps and pre-amps I'm guessing, is what they mean.

Yep, 2-channel is slang for preamps and amps.

And, since I like you guys, a few thoughts:

    1. The real cost in amplifiers is in thermal management--big heatsinks, especially cosmetic ones, cost big $.
    2. This does not mean the amplifiers have to be Class D.
    3. This does mean the amps will probably be smaller than you expect. But VERY dense. Inexpensive =/= switching supply, either.
    4. If they don't put out a LOT more power than a Ragnarok, why bother?
    5. If they don't cost a LOT less than a Ragnarok (like, much less than half), why bother?

Holy schiit, a pre & amp to stack with Gungnir Multibit would be amazeballs...

    I wouldn't advise this.

However, power, not lots of money, and cheap heatsinks sounds awesome.

I like the VERY DENSE comment. The Schiit stuff at all levels is already built like a tank in their respective size categories, and a compact, smallish, power amp from them will be awesome.

Plus, the HE6 crowd can stop mortgaging their houses for Simaudio products.

So now I am left wondering if Jason is talking about a new amplifier design that will eventually replace the Ragnarok (as it is also a 2-channel stereo speaker amplifier)... or if the Ragnarok will coexist with this new product line and continue as Schiit's flagship headphone/speaker amplifier.

The Ragnarok manual states, "Ragnarok is the ultimate amplifier—for Schiit, anyway. No, we’re not suddenly going to be putting out an even more super-duper amp, not after two years of R&D to stuff in full microprocessor management of all amplifier operational parameters, including bias, offset, and fault protection, a 64-level relay switch stepped attenuator and three gain levels, a whole new gain stage optimized for the Crossfet™ architecture and offering the same feedback level and compensation for all gain levels, and complete, transparent handling of both balanced and single-ended signals."

But Jason wrote on head-fi.org 3 days ago, "It’s not often you see radically different stuff on the analog side of things, but I think we’re ready to unveil something I’ve been working on for a couple of years…a new, inherently balanced, current-feedback topology that is not a circlotron, and is not supersymmetry. This is by far the best-performing topology we have ever come up with, both in terms of measurements and (in our opinion) sonics. This topology can stretch from the 2-channel world to the headphone world pretty easily."

Sweet merciful, that is good news!

Please integrate remote controls into any new two-channel products so they are living-room-ready. Would love to see a fully balanced Schiit tube pre-amp/headphone amp and a ballsy amplifier to power Maggies.
