Ford engine in a Chevy: Koss version

You know that thing about how if you put your Ford engine in your Chevy and your Chevy engine in your Ford, they both go better? And use less fuel!

So, I removed my KSC75 drivers from their awesome aftermarket Parts Express headband and put them in my Porta Pro headband. Then I put my Porta Pro drivers in my Parts Express headband. They both got better. HD 800? HD 600? HD 650? Suck it up.

He did the thinking, I do the drinking. It's a teamwork thing. As Stephen always said: "There is no I in team but there is a U in drunk".

The worst (best?) thing about this is that it's true, the PP driver does benefit from a little more air and less clamping force and the KSC driver does benefit from some extra clamping force and maybe from that extra chunk of plastic reflecting sound back from the rear of the driver.

Shit, I don't know if I'm listening with KSC Pros or Porta 75s but I like it.

 

So I think what you've done is essentially what I run at the office currently. I have a pair of KSC-35s on a PE headband. I think those are the same drivers as the PPs. I also have a pair of KSC-75s on a PE headband. In both cases, I prefer the PE headband over the stock clips with both of these. I don't find the KSC-35s to be a huge improvement over the KSC-75, given the price difference, but for some reason I seem to have to replace the KSC-75s every 1.5-2 years because a channel goes out, and I've had the KSC-35s for about 4 years.

I love both of these on a Fulla 2. This gets my nomination for best ultra cheap office system.

So it seems that totally by accident I reinvented the discontinued KSC35. I think this is up there with Lord Percy discovering Pure Green
