Hello there, I'm a new member on the forum so i hope I'm posting on the right place.
I'd greatly appreciate it if you could give me some feedback on this headphone stand. It's one of my projects that took quite a lot of time to complete. I tried to make a design that would fit in modern environments, and make your headphones stand out. It is made entirely out of CNC machined aluminium, with an anodized matte finish.

I hope you guys like it.
    Thank you for your attention.

    Hi there,

    First, introduce yourself here.

Then read up on rules, expectations, etc. I'm not sure this post belongs in the headphones section.

That being said, I like your work on the stand.

Stand looks good, but needs a place for the cable to wrap.

Well, yes... I have a weakness for a nice bit of metal work.

But, assuming that you don't have a hobby machine in your garage, please make it a little clearer why you have posted this on the site? Compliments you can easily get, but are you looking for feedback as to whether or not you should manufacture it? Or if people would be likely to buy it?

Congratulations on the good work... but please make your intentions clear.

+1. As a bonus all the solid aluminum means it’d also double as an excellent home defense weapon. Hear a suspicious noise? Move your headphones, grab the Skullkrusher and go investigate.

Looks very good. Hefty and the height seems great too. Would you mind sharing how much this cost you to make?

I like the industrial design of it, and love it in the raw metal look. I personally wouldn't buy it as it doesn't match my other items, but I see the allure for sure. Just like @M3NTAL said, I think it needs a dedicated place to wrap the cable.

@Thad E Ginathom actually I do have a small workshop in my garage with a cnc-milling machine.

Like I now wrote in my introduction post (sorry i should've done so before posting), I am part of a small start-up where we would like to manufacture high quality home/studio accessories.
This is a headphone stand that we made, so we were curious about what people who have more experience in the audio world think. Do they use a headphone stand and do they like the design?

I usually rest my headphones on a table or use this for the 650s:

Your stand looks nice but probably expensive.

@Jozurr thank you for your kind words. This was built on a cnc-milling machine, it took around 14 hours of machine work together with preparation to complete. Since this is just one existing piece, no specialized holding/clamping tools were made beforehand which would decrease the machining time and difficulty.
We used a high grade of aluminium alloy, which, after the machining was done, was blasted then anodized. Since we were milling this piece by ourselves it cost us 14 hours of non stop milling and the price of the materials and anodizing process. if we had outsourced the milling it would cost a lot, since machine work is the most expensive part.

After calculating all of our costs of production, packaging and after we order the custom clamping tools to be made to our spec, we concluded that we would have to sell these for around 295 euros.

Why does this seem like something rotten in the State of Denmark? Seems a whole lot like someone making an account to pedal wares. Or at least to test the market for doing so. Not so cool IMO.

Agreed. Maybe if this was under DIY or something it would feel different but this just feels like advertising. Hope I'm wrong...

@Ice-man well I'm not trying to spam, if I gave you such an impression, then I'm very sorry. Like I said I'm looking for opinions.
I have asked on one DIY forum and the post was removed since they didn't consider cnc-milling as DIY, so i didn't know where to ask.

Boo hoo. I vote for BAN!

Didn't follow the rules. Now you are quoting prices. Don't like this.

If you're making fancy racks for the sake of audio jewelry, ok.

If you're making racks for the average headphone user who has to save up for an M50x... then you've completely missed your market and the engineer in me is furrowing his brow at your impractical design choices. Why high grade aluminum? Why even aluminum in the first place? do you have a recycling plan in place for all that wasted material? You've put in what appear to be pin joints but no way to actually articulate the arm which seems like a missed opportunity.

I like the stand. It looks cool. Might need to be taller. ZMF, Audeze, etc need tall stands for the added height the cable plugs add.

As you can tell, we are a little skeptical when new folks pop on and start posting these things. Take it with a grain of salt, be honest, get to know us and all that jazz.

I was going to say spending 295 euros on that is crazy, and there's no articulation from the arm either? Total rip off.

Well we wouldn't expect for someone who has m50x to buy the stand, they are just placeholder.
Why aluminium? Because we wanted a product that would last, as well as we like the aesthetic it gives.
That's why i posted this to see what people think.
