Yeah, I think your problem is that iPhone.

I'd only use iPhone if I can either...

    a) Use the foam mod that @gixxerwimp posted earlier with foam tips.
    b) Use a thick copper cable like PWAudio No.5. Stock cable is slightly more brittle and glassy sounding than No.5.

For me, when using Andromeda with ZX2 or AK120 (I'd highly recommend either of these if you find the highs too much), I find that midrange is sometimes too recessed. Solaris did fix this but it just doesn't fit me, so I'm forced to keep using my Andro to get this sound.

Recently got some Symbio W tips in to try, and they do boost the upper mid a little, but I'm still deciding on whether I like them or not. Some songs sound like the bass is a bit more congested than some other tips. It may just be that I get a looser fit with other tips and Symbio just fits a bit too well.

for a portable rig, i have little complaint with an iPhone X (lossless files) lightning connected to a iFi xDSD or LH Labs Go2APro Spec Edition, and balanced port/cable to Andromeda.
Xbass button on xDSD gives a subtle bass nudge.

sure, nothing turns the Andromeda into bass cannons.
comply foamies can tame treble if they are comfortable to the end user.

What source did you use, what output impedance? Eq for Andromeda without OI mentioned has little meaning.
I found that Andromeda like warmish source with Oi around 1.5-2 like zx2, a good amount of burn in, and with the CA marshmallow tips doesnt really need eq

Has anyone tried the Activo CT10 (AK brand)? I read no hiss, gets great reviews in general, 2 oi, affordable (approx $300 new), MQA for Tidal; however, not a lot of data points as to how it pairs with Andromeda. The zx2 has streaming for Tidal, but no MQA. Would the potentially better pairing with Andromada outweigh the MQA benefits of CT10? I would likely do most of my listening via Tidal, at least until i build up collection of music. Thanks.

MQA is a scam and has no benefits. I actively avoid MQA tracks on Tidal, since normal FLAC versions are usually available.

Hi guys, looking for people with Andro experience. I am at a crossroad as whether I sell my 1more Triple BT as my casual outdoor music listening and buy a Sony MUC2 and use the Andro's? The other route was getting the ES100 but I love the neckband solution it is so practical for daily use, removing one ear or both and them just hanging down etc.

My concerns with doing this is whether the André's will drown out too much outside noice for outside use (when I need a bit of awareness) and the higher risk element of losing them (pre football game leaving them in my bag etc)

    Thanks!

Anyone recommend an iem which would contrast the Andro's nicely for day to day listening? Thinking of the P1 but open to suggestions, new/used want to spend about £150

Massdrop EDC2 - neutral, excellent for daily use and nothing touches it in this price in terms of correct tonality and no vice - yes it's not going to blow your socks off like the Andros but it sounds correct out of low OI sources, unlike many many other IEMs. Andro has a more euphoric tonality whilst EDC2 is a workhorse which gives it to you straight without making fuss. P1 doesn't sound balanced, it's kind of v shaped and bit grainy, I got rid of mine

Tried all other IEMs above its price range. I still go back to the awesome tonality of the Andromeda CK Pacific Blue. Truly an endgame IEM for me

This IEM is the most tempted I've ever been to spend that kind of money on something simply because of how it looks.

The CK Pacific Blue is the one I liked the most. Its looks is enhanced many times with any 8 core pure silver cable :)

I'm curious if these will implement the changes from the "S" or if they are completely different from either the original or "S" with regards to the mid frequency drivers.

Also, it looks like an IEMatch will be needed for quiet operation on many devices - these are rated at 7Ω.

EDIT: Today is 808 day.... Maybe there is a correlation with bass and the announcement date? (Mostly joking and partially serious) :D

on a daily basis, already use IEMatch with Andro (regular green) primarily on xDSD as well as WA8 Eclipse.
am tempted by the Andro Gold, for some reason I prefer a bit more bass for IEMs listening when compared to full sized headphones.
hoping Gold aren't sold out by RMAF Sep 6-8.
