    hi friends,

for your consideration is a California Audio Labs 'Delta' CD transport in very good condition. there is not a lot I can say about this transport that hasn't already been written online as it is a popular unit from the early 90s. still, here's a quick rundown:

this unit has a compact form factor and a no frills mid-90s chic appearance. it uses a Panasonic RAE0113Z mechanism which was also used in CALs other players of the era. although replacements are not commonly available the mechanism itself is reliable. it reads all my CDs, including scratched ones, within seconds. i believe in case of issue, Approved Audio Service still works on CAL gear, although I can't verify this.

on the rear are AES and RCA coaxial outputs. this is one of the best value units for CD playback via AES you can get and the small form factor means it can slot in to almost any system unobtrusively. if you're like me and still have a CD collection, a very smart pick up! remote control included.

id like $350 USD shipped for it. pictures below.

if you need an AES cable, i have a treat for you! i have an Empirical Design 224B AES/EBU cable in 1.5m length (the recommended length to avoid early reflections in S/PDIF transmission). i'm not sure if this product was commercially released as the Empirical Design website was never updated to include it but I pretty much guarantee this cable will beat any current AES interlink you are using or your money back. don't let its plain looks fool you.

I believe I paid $120 USD for it, so my ask is $60 USD.

lastly, I also have a pair of Facemelter XLR interconnects from Dyson Audio. these are the copper litz version with neutrik gold connectors, unshielded 1 meter pair. i've owned like 4 pairs of these by this point and always end up selling them to other members on here because i no longer use XLR connected gear. maybe next time i will learn my lesson and just keep them, cause they sound frickin' good.

    my ask is $80 USD.

Did the transport get snagged up yet? Have an idea of what shipping would run to 62301 in US?

Someone get the transport. That's one of the better CAL products of the 90s.

Having worked for CAL I'm biased, but the Delta is a solid transport. It also had some of the lowest measured jitter specs of that time, if that matters to anyone.
