The brown edges make it look delicious...or is it just me? Haha

If I can get some other method of cutting I will :). The brown edges smell like death the first few days. I'll let others report back on the smell of burned urethane and if it has dissipated or not.

This mod and a resonator should bring a lot to the table. Looking forward to what's coming next.

Urethane is a known carcinogen. Do wear some protection mask when you are cutting the liner if it indeed contains urethane.

The laser cutter has a phenomenal hood. All of the airborne carcinogens released during the laser cutting process are removed, filtered into a special containment area, and processed to eliminate potential dangerous fumes from being released into the area around my building.

And most rug liners I've used have some kind of urethane base so good luck avoiding it when modding HD800s :)

But that being said, YMMV and totes modcancer.

Believe it or not, I'm a resident physician at a university hospital who's looking after a couple dozen cancer patients in the oncology department at the moment. Although urethrane is indeed a known carcinogen as TomNC have pointed out, I can safely vouch for the mod that the chances of you actually getting cancer from using that mod is zip, zilch, nada. I'm a doctor and I would happily wake up every morning and instead of coffee, start my day off with a sniff of the SBAF modded HD800 followed by a listening session, saying "I love the smell of urethrane in the morning."

Hopefully a laser cut resonator mod can tame that 6khz peak finally.

I need some help from you guys thinking of some small gifts for the lab guys who have helped me so much on the project. They've been super helpful and accommodating.

Will you be possibly adding a service for the Z28 Mod with the resonators like with the ones you modded for me @purrin ? Or are mine unique? Also, which mod is better? I know the Z28 Mod sounds amazing with the resonators.

@zerodeefex - you're suggesting I do both mods, even with the Z28 resonator mod?

Yes, both. They solve different problems so combined they should be awesome.
