My sincere thanks to all who have sent wishes, regards, or sent up good mojo on my behalf. I go to Westwood tonight to see the super specialist. A particular loud thanks to the pms, which I will return in detail when I get back from UCLA.
My Schiit Wagon Walker is starting to look good with its flames!
That which cannot be mentioned will soon be in production.
Work on our autoswitching USB speed CD transport continues as soon as Ivana returns from Serbia.

Good luck Mike! Hope they figure this thing out for you. If you can figure out how to make USB sound good, surely they can figure out this schiit!?

Also- “autoswitching USB speed CD transport”??

@baldr it was pretty clear from the first installment of Schiit Happens from Jason that you're a one of a kind. However, it's a given that none of us wants that sort of special-ness when it comes to health.
Great to read that you're taking your situation head on.
Reading about how you and Jason have got your Schiit together has partly inspired me to try my hand at DIY amp building. That may not help your bottom line but I'm grateful for the influence. Your sense of humour along the way certainly has made it all a joy to read. So, please keep more of it coming and I'm looking forward to reading about when you park the Schiit Wagon and put it up on blocks. May that day come soon.

Could be what's called a transient ischemic attack.
They tend to repeat and get worse until you actually get a real stroke. This would explain why you never got a stroke, but had all the simpoms of one, multiple times, progressively worse. That's the best I could think of that's relatively common, and I'm just a future neuroophthalmologist, not a nerurologist.
This doesn't seem as a neuromuscular disease to me, at least not one with ground in immunology, they tend to be much more like clockwork, while tia's are more random. Tia's would explain the word salads, neuromuscular diseases, not really. Good regulation of blood pressure, losing weight etc... only way to go against these. These ultra hyper neurologists will do all they can though for you, for sure. Probably thought of this too, and I'm stupidly redundand, but that's a risk I'll take if there's a small chance to help in some way.
Anyway sorry I read this just now, hope you're doing fine or better atm.

Hi Baldr, welcome back! I have recently bought and upgraded my dacs to bifrost multibit and a Modi 3. I use the bifrost for the 2 channel and modi3 for my headphones. I really appreciate your creativity and am looking forward to more of your schitt weather verbiage or physical;)
    Please keep keeping on!!

I have barely posted in the last few months, but that's because Yggdrasil with A2 board, and Mojo 2 with the Tesla tubes just sounds like music to me, and I have been enjoying music. There is nothing annoying, just sounds like music. You will put yourself out of business ;)

And gads I hate believing in magic, but the tubes in the MJ2 path make a difference to me. It's what I was missing with my old SS gear. That warmth, the sense of liquid sound, smooth, well no words, but yea gonna keep using this gear until the next round of magic happens.

When I owned the Lyr2 the Teslas were a breakthrough. By far my favorite sound. My T3 is better in technicalities, but the Lyr 2 with Tesla tubes is the best tone/timbre I've ever heard in an amp, bar none.

Lately I have been using the Focal Utopias. They are sort of harsh (aka truthful), but with Yggdrasil A2 A2 and Mojo 2 and tubes of choice, the balance is about right. I cannot recommend these headphones if the backend gear is not working, because they will reveal every annoyance, but with right gear behind them, pretty amazing.

For whatever it is worth, I can write, tubes do NOT make the sound mushy like it did a few decades ago (aka the Heathkit days). The MJ2 is as lively as any SS amp, every bit as clear, it's just not sterile (aka sucky). LIkewise, Yggdrasil with the newer A2 board, nothing wrong at all. Every detail is there, but Baldr has succeeded, what an amazing DAC. It just sounds like music. Smooth, musical. Like I wrote earlier, Schiit may put themselves out of business, this gear is just that good there is not much motivation to buy anything else.

@zonto - I put them up for sale, nobody bought them, I've revisited them and finding them to be more enjoyable then when I first got them. They are still hard for me to recommend because they are potentially brutal too, but maybe they've gotten to be more tolerable due to break in or I maybe I have just adjusted. They do a lot well, but if there is any annoyance behind them, well you'll hear it all.

    Totally agree.

It's about how the internal components are designed around the tubes. Even the Vahalla 2 is by no means "mushy" or euphonic.

I just heard the new PrimaLuna tube DAC. It's pretty damn good. $3k good? Not sure.

@baldr congrats to you, Jason and your team on the new Bifrost 2. Seems like an epic product for the price, and setting up good things to come for Gungnir Multibit and Yggdrasil. Honestly, the amount of value (not to mention sound quality) packed into your creations is truly amazing.

Also hope that your health is doing ok these days. All the best.
