Thanks for the suggestions. We ended up on a small bag from Manhattan Portage. The red label is a bit big, but otherwise it has worked out well. Manhattan Portage Urban Bag (Grey) https://www.amazon.com/dp/B001AM2K5K/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apap_z9pIwEoOYOgZU

Photobucket is still acting up so just text. ULA Catalyst is my large bag for about a decade, I went through many bags prior but this has been the cure. My small bag is Hill People Gear Tarahumara in green waxed canvas. I had one in black nylon but sold it to buy this based on cool factor alone (bushcraft thing). Packs are one of the things I have squared away and no longer think about at all. Someday I will be there for audio.

I’ve been using a Think-Tank bag for a few years. The main reason being that you can access your camera in less than 5 seconds and without taking the pack off your back. I’ve found that for me, quick and easy access to the camera is fairly critical when I’m tired, sore and hot.

I need a little more capacity for a bike backpack for grocery runs. My larger bag has a belt that is in the wrong place when crouched in fighter pilot position on the mountain bike. I had an AHA! moment for what I really want for this purpose. So I googled "5 gallon bucket backpack". I ordered the below and I am super excited. No cooler insert and only the one slip pocket and molle on the sides for under $100 shipped.

It is absolutely mandatory that you have someone take a photo of you blasting past some roadies with firewood in that thing

A bit late but yep, not this forum (for various reasons, IMO not just people disagreeing - which IMO we should actually be open to as it's a good way to learn and grow). Agree on the interesting difference in cultural perspectives, etc. though.

On a different note anyone into archery at all here? Particularly, with compound bow for recreational, outdoor, hunting usage, not so much Olympic or competitive formats. Still relatively new myself, but not looking for full blown nuanced archery discussions on an archery forum, etc.

I have taken this bag on two shopping trips. I really like it. It will hold two FULL plastic shopping bags. The harness is heavily inspired by HPGs yoke and handles the weight no problem at all.

I overshopped this morning and did not have my overflow bag so I improvised (pic below). Ideally a bungee net like for motorcycle platforms would be ideal and could lock into the molle slots so it could stay on there. It makes a great seat and I would buy it just for that option. It takes a bit of space but I think this is about the best get home bag for a car or truck. In a worst case scenario you could port 5 gallons of water on your back.

I imagine I am coming off as a shill for MUUL but I am only a satisfied customer.

I just got back from over-shopping again. I calculate 19 pounds. I had to un-package the eggs but only one got dented and fed to the dog. My favorite part of the bag use today was sitting on it and eating a pair of Ghirardelli dark chocolate and sea salt caramel bars prior to the ride home. The value of a comfortable stool of correct height on demand cannot be exaggerated.

    100 ounce laundry detergent
    2 dozen large eggs
    1.5 pounds chicken guts
    1.5 pounds chicken wings
    2 pounds yams
    1 pound onion
    1 pound sandwich bags
