Those are nice! The original moonwatch for me, maybe I'll pick one up someday.

The black dial, rose goldtone is a good choice!

Yes, just wish the date was black face, too.

Well, for that price it's all off-the-shelf, maybe a black date wheel was unavailable...

Hopefully, they'll really adjust the miyota movement and make it accurate.

Okay, do you guys think the bracelet is too big on this watch, or is it just me?

Same watch except on a leather strap--a very different look, I think.

    Lugs are too thick.

So, would you go with the bracelet as that sorta hides them?

While I agree that the lugs are a little thick, I think the watch overall presents better on the strap. The beauty of the signature Breguet guilloche dial and blued hands gets washed out by the bracelet.

The bracelet isn't in keeping with the style of the dial. With the band, the lugs are too disproportionate. Band, bracelet, and dial are OK on their own--just not together.

I also prefer the band. This Breguet with large date is more of a "dress watch" than a tool watch, to me. I agree that the bracelet distracts from the beautiful hands and dial. I'd probably go with an aftermarket Horween Cordovan strap to give the overall presentation a little more depth and interest.

Agreed about the bracelet. The lugs are a Breguet stylistic trademark. You see, they harken back to a time before people knew how to make proportionate lugs...

I may still pick this up to celebrate growing super old, with the Journe being next year's super-duper old celebration/nervous breakdown

You can't go wrong between those two. If money weren't an object, I'd own a Breguet Marine in steel.

[IMG] If I can talk myself into spending for it, then the Breguet is on my list of watches to buy, I think.

Imagine that I replaced the rubber with leather, or maybe just left it!

Is it weird that I like it as much as this?

I thought about a PP nautilus but the power reserve is 35-45hr, which means 35hr is all likelihood, plus they are doubling their output so there are problems with QC and service--which is super expensive anyway. And a year long waitlist with no discount. Well, okay, and the last thing is that the best nautilus dial to me is the electric blue platinum version for $100,000... which is about the same blue as the AP RO pictured here, or thereabouts. Not a direct comparison, but the AP has a 60hr power reserve (at 3hz), so a little more wearable. All these watches scratch like crazy, which does get me a bit.

Here's the Nautilus SS (greyish but shows blue in many situations) versus the blue platinum version which is a lot of money. Heck, I will probably be able to buy a full platinum Rolex with platinum bracelet for $50,000 less--which I probably won't do, but ugh):

First image isn't working. Those aren't my style at all, so I won't comment.

I've always liked the Royal Oak in steel. The geometric bezel and screws looks just right for certain dry professions (the sciences, engineering, maybe programming too). The textured face complements the chunkiness of the bezel and the starkness of the notches. Nautilus is a more fun watch--for the beach.

[IMG] Oops, here's the pic (having some trouble! :drunk:), just the Breguet (plus some plastic stuff) on a rubber strap on my wrist to compare with the AP 15400. The Breguet is a bit smaller, but both fit well.

I love a good bracelet, but hate scratches, so that part is a wash. The Breguet will end up being cheaper by a few thousand.

Yeah, it's a classic Gerald Genta design. Something from the 70's that still really looks good.
