A new (to me) Japanese whiskey: Togouchi. $43 at Total Wine. Very smooth.

I'll have to look for that next time I'm out.
Cheaper than what I'm enjoying right now, so that's good.

Went searching in my liquor cabinet for Japanese whiskey so I could play, too, but found this instead -- didn't even know I had it.

Taiwanese sherried single malt whiskey. Really dark, really hot. Not really my favorite at first, although the flavor is starting to come out from under the alcohol now that I'm adding water.

My local Total Wine hasn't had Hibiki in for some time. Maybe I need to request it. They do have Toki.

I like the rice whiskey, but I do find myself missing the flavor profile of a Japanese malt I had recently, The Shin:

This is pretty alright. Cheap. A little more expensive than dewars, but a bit better.

A different flavor for your friendly forum alcoholic. No booze for me, ginger beer is as close as I get these days. Highly recommended, it's got a LOT of flavor. Not for the faint of heart.

Black Velvet, a cheap Canadian blended whiskey, and coke. It's hardly the best drink I've ever had, but it gets the job done.

A passable Sazerac followed by a mediocre Manhattan. Dude's other restaurant has 3 Michelin stars and a fantastic bartender; I have no idea why he lets the drinks be so meh at this place.

    Food was good.

Water. 2l per day, for scientific reasons. I wonder if there will be any change if I manage to keep up.

Man, I've been a gallon-ish of water a day guy for years now.
We're currently painting, texturing, etc our bedroom though so we did make a 5 o'clock bike run for some Dale's Pale Ale.

I've been drinking that much water for so long that I don't remember what it was like in The Before Times. I just like water.

^ Thinking of buying some Old Forester - anything you'd like to share about it?

On a diff note, but had some Grangestone Bourbon Cask and Sonoma Bourbon some earlier. Pics are just off internet for reference.

This Grangestone was OK - Nothing mind blowing, but nothing wrong with it to me. By itself, it's really smooth to the point of being dangerous for me - I could see myself drinking half a bottle on accident and not realizing it. Otherwise, per @ChaChaRealSmooth 's recommendation, this stuff pairs really well with a lot of cigars. As in, I prefer this over many "better whiskys" with cigars.

Not quite sure what to say about the Sonoma Bourbon yet other than it has a pretty interesting taste to me for a bourbon. Made of multiple grains and you taste it on the way down and as it sits on the tongue.

Finally, had a tiny bit of Hennessy I found in a left over airplane sized bottle I had lying around. I'm guessing there's no need for a picture here as everyone knows what this is. Super cheesy, but the best part to me was putting in water after and drinking a very nice smelling water.

Trying a Japanese gin infused with mandarins, on the rocks. Very tasty, with a nice finish.
