*sigh* Time to pull the bandaid off. This thing is pretty sweet.

Up for sale is my Krell KSA-5 Klone. This is a two chassis unit (separate power supply) built off of the Kevin Gilmore boards by DIYer Zashoomin. It has both XLR and standard ¼” outputs, even though it’s a single ended design. The Klone is resolving as hell and can power most anything but an HE-6. It goes great with orthos and Fostex headphones, especially the TH900, and t50rp mods.

It’s too big for my desk. It has completely crowded out my workspace and I lack adequate ventilation underneath. I need to downsize to something smaller. (Plus, auto repairs took a bigger bite out of my budget this month than I would have liked.)

You can see Tyll interview Ben (Zashoomin) here on this InnerFidelity article from CamJam SoCal 2015. The Klone in the video is the exact same unit I’m selling here. You can see Zashoomin’s original For Sale post complete with interior photos of the extremely clean build. He demo'ed the amplifier at CamJam off of a Yulong - the amp was way too good for that DAC and sounded amazing off of the Gungnir Multibit.

The price is $XXX CONUS shipped SOLD. Gift or provided 3% for Paypal fees. It’s heavy and I already know that shipping will not be cheap.

Yeah, it's a beauty. I'm still going back and forth over whether or not to sell this or to sell the facetweeter800.

Why do all these good deals of rare and exotic built devices are always in the US... :(
Best of luck with the sale, sir AustinValentine.

Assuming stock, 10Vrms and biased 100mA push-pull Class A. This build appears to have a momentary switch with driver circuit and SS relay.

Too add what Marv said, the Krell that Zashoomin had at CanJam sounded really good. I was totally surprised by that amp.

i should also mention that the Klone has a low input impedance and should not be fronted by a source with a high output impedance. any sand source should be fine but i would be wary of a tube driven DAC. i think Marv can attest to this.
