The major downside to the EARS is the high Q (peaky) response around 4.5kHz. This makes it easier for any compensation to be thrown off if the microphones inside the EARS shift. It should be noted that I have not had any issues related to this. I believe Oratory did an analysis of the EARS which showed it do more than decent job. He actually has a bunch of data from it. I know early on, he wasn't a believer.

As a learning tool, very useful.

The stuff on accuracy is a fool's errand. I know that different pinna will yield responses that will vary depending upon headphone regardless of compensation. Not every person will have ears and related structures representative of the GRAS.

    Yep:

That's the open-ear gain measured close to the eardrum of a bunch of dudes in the Netherlands. The closer the sound source sits to the ear (headphones), the more biological mechanisms (ear resonances) will be bypassed, altering the final response in the area where our auditory organs reside, and the response our brains are used to processing as 'normal'.

Bought a second ears, because I modded my first to be a flat stand. Can share the file for printing if anyone interested.

So started tinkering with SBAF curve and ended up creating an additional sheet to calculate the values. May be it will help others: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1PhmloBI6i9Tk1NV3TX0Qa26o2vNXM0jtzW3wdFXWJDc

    How to use:
Switch to "Individual calculation" tab, copy-paste values from HEQ files to the left columns, then copy-paste results from the right "Export to TXT".
Both of my channels were much more close to Marv's left channel, so I took it as a base and then applied a channel difference to the right one. Yours might be different, so check it before use
