Meet was hella fun. Got to meet a lot of great folks from Schiit. I’ll do a write-up later when I get home.

PS - The DNA Stellaris did make and appearance and was working!

We made a trip to Guitar Center and they had a Mesa Boogie brand 5U4GB (bottle). The $16 multi-meter confirmed that pins 2 and 4 were shorted on the original tube - the heater and plate (that’s bad). A quick trip to Home Depot got a fast blow 3A fuse, although it really needs a slow blow 2A. Either way, she worked. :punk:

The hospitality of Schiit was over and beyond fantastic. We hung out with them and they made us feel very welcome and it was great to talk to not only Jason, but Alex, Denise, and the rest of the crew.

Schiit really were the heroes here once again. They made everyone feel extremely welcome and they also covered all of our bar and food tabs for delicious beer and barbecue at the meet. How incredibly generous and unexpected!

Everyone from Schiit was super friendly and gave their time freely for hours to share stories of how things are going and how things have gone and what's coming down the pipeline soon.

The next time they have a meet I definitely recommend anyone coming out who is interested because it's obvious they're investing in building community and trying to make sure everyone has a great time regardless of whether or not Schiit gear is part of the process and it's also obvious that they are constantly working on developing more cool shit to share with everyone.

The upcoming release of Mjolnir 3 just feels to me like they heard from here all the love that we were giving to MJ1 and decided to go all in on what we loved about it and make it even better. It's like a gift to the torch bearers.

Thanks for a great time y'all and we appreciate y'all getting everyone together and making us feel so welcome! True Southern hospitality.

Thanks to everyone who made the journey down to Corpus! It's always great to meet you guys (and blather on video as usual.)

Mjolnir 3 is gonna be one of those "15 Magnis" chapters--we went through a lot of iterations on that one before we came up with one we like--tube hybrid, tech forward, Nexus, etc--before we settled on something that's closest in concept to the Freya+ buffer...but writ very large, with dual mono construction, choke-input, discrete-regulated supplies, Class A operation (switchable SE or push-pull), switchable feedback...it's still getting tweaked, and still several months out. Maybe summer? We'll see!

It was nice to meet you guys! Sorry I was not more personable. I'm still exhausted from the Texas Audio Show in Austin months earlier and as I mentioned (I guess many of you guys didn't know), I'm the cybersecurity dude at what is probably the largest media and entertainment post and vfx house in the world. This was one of those weeks (where I can now say that a major firewall manufacturer found an ooopsie that required emergency patching).

"Best" setup of the meet. Will write more words later. It's "best" because it epouses my ideals (not spending big money, but instead being a good chef). FTW: a "POS" Magnavox CDP, an hacked MHDT Paradisea DAC, and Piety.

I’m just so glad @Erroneous can make use of that CDP. It was collecting dust at my house. And I agree…that setup was a good comparison to the Holo May/Stellaris rig showing that Paradisia/Piety that got you 90% there and hardly leaves you wanting more. I listened to it more when it was at the house because the Stellaris was out, but it still bested everything I brought. (Although I should have just brought Bifrost or a Modi and the BW1). Maybe next time.

I think there was one on the Folkvanger. It looks just like the new Modi +.

Oh yeah. Didn't notice that. There's the bare board in a Mjolnir footprint next the Yggdrasil too.

I actually had this exact same modded DAC and my own vintage Maganvox CD player in house feeding my Zana for a while before Gungnir Multibit came in, and it was pretty amazing... although I can see Piety being a better match as not to expose the limitations of the DAC as much.

This being my first meet, I was simply blown away - such a fun event!

Jason and Denise were such gracious and generous hosts, and they are not even born southerners ;). I got to listen to a ton of gear, but even better were the great conversations with Alex & Tyler & M (running a biz vs running a middle school, frozen hel weekend, texas mosquitoes, the challenging state of veterinary medicine), Jason & Marv (audio needs an injection of out-of-the-box measurement and science thinking, stat), @Erroneous & @famish99 (music, gear, music, gear, music, music, bbq, music). It was great to meet the former and current midstreamers Randy (@CheapAudioMan) and Jason from FTW and talk about off-center adolescent sports (teen female powerlifting anyone?) and lots of two- and four- wheeled adventure chat.

My vote for hero goes to @Erroneous! Not only did he bring a tippy-top mega-kilobuck rig to share (Holo May / Stellaris) and an incredible value rig (MHDT / Piety ), he also brought an entire collection of unicorn-class Sennheisers and all the knowledge he has accumulated along with them. PLUS a collection of about 250 CDs for folks to enjoy! What an incredibly open-hearted and generous guy - you made the night all that much better!

If you were on the fence and decided not to make this one, don’t miss the next one. It was like a Schiity hug, from a company and community that are warm and welcoming and making the world a better place. Thanks all.

Also think it's the same Modi MB 2 that was shown at Austin and Socal Can Jam.

Last time I asked it's ready design-wise but pending parts (I assume I can say this). Can't comment on the sound as I heard it both times through an unfamiliar to me chain but nothing stood out to me in any negative way.

Don't mean to de-rail but I'm a vet tech, have been in the industry for 13 years, and yeah - it's no joke, especially at the moment! Makes me regretful for not getting to be there to join in on that conversation.

It's cool to see that MHDT DAC getting some attention. HF is usually a cesspool, as we all know, but one of the few inlets of possible value there has been legacy threads like the MHDT modding threads or Little Dot MK III tinkering or whatever that have seemed to go on for over a decade or so.

I'd like to see the MHDT (stock, mildly modded, crazy modded) vs Abbas DACs.

All the deets I think coming out soon, and I think many details out already on Modi 2 Multibit (or is it Modi Multibit 2?), anyway, same AD DAC chip, Unison USB, and improved output section and low on heat output (better regulators).

I like the TI DAC chip, but I think that is fine to keep that in the upper models.
