The Modi MB data presented were collected as follows:

    1. PrismSound dScope III, picoscope 5243B
    2. DAC unbalanced output RCA
    3. 100 Kohm load used for measurements
    4. 44 KHz sample rate, 24 bit depth
    5. USB input – Audioquest Forest
    6. SPDIF input - Tecnec B-B-6in with 75 ohm BNC to RCA adapters
    7. Toslink input - generic 12 inch toslink cable
    8. Unbalance cable DH Labs Silver Sonic Air Matrix RCA
    9. Vaunix Lab Brick USB hub
    10. USB to SPDIF DDC - Gustard U12 XMOS

Modi MB - AD5547CRUZ resistor multibit 16 bit resolution DAC
Measurements were performed over a period of 6 hrs after 24 hrs warmup.

    Notable highlights:

Substantially similar to Bifrost MB with the following differences of interest:
    1. slightly lower resolution - see -70 and -90 dBFS sine
    2. sligthly less dynamic range
    3. higher residual noise floor as seen on jitter measurements

Excellent channel matching like the other Schiit MB DACs
Listening evaluation finds the multibit magic of dimension and depth present
Incedible performance for a 16 bit resolution DAC at this price point

USB to SPDIF and Toslink DDC (Gustard U12 XMOS) - Single Ended RCA output

When a DDC is connected to the Modi MB via SPDIF or Toslink the DAC measures very similar to the respective dScope III digital feeds which have been presented above. Here are the jitter measurements and noise floors obtained with the U12 DDC.

    Excellent work as always @atomicbob.

Modi Multibit is putting out some great numbers, but that is only part of the story with Multibit, isn't it ;)

I wish you could throw in another alternatives better power supply then the cheap wallwart to measure.

I'm on a audio grade power supply now. Its totally another level of SQ.

It already uses a linear power supply.

Huh? o_O So you are using a diff transformer? That's all the wallwart is in this case, there's no SMPS in there.

I am a believer in using Linear Power Supplies in place of SMPS whenever possible. In the case of Schiit, all wall wart powered products use simple, good quality AC transformers, no SMPS. The engineers at Schiit also have a distaste for SMPS. To achieve a better power supply for the Modi MB is called the Bifrost MB, which has been measured and presented in another thread.

So you spent like $250 on a "better" power supply? The same amount of money you spent on the Modi Multibit? The total amount of money could've gotten you a Bifrost Multibit? Smart.

How long did you listen to the Modi Multibit with the provided wallwart before switching over to the power supply?

I interpreted his statement as if he hadn't even listened to the Modi Multibit at all and just assumed it would sound/measure better.

If you want a super-powerful 14VAC 1.5A "audiophile grade linear power supply," AKA "wall-wart," (to replace the standard 16VAC/500mA wall-wart), you can buy one on the Schiit site for $15.

No speculation on whether or not this improves anything. Just sayin.

Um, guys, it's a troll. o_O Unless you intend your comment/questions rhetorically, there's really no point in addressing it.

Nah. He has the Modi Multibit. I saw his posts on HF where he's hyping the "improved power supply". I'm betting he tried the wallwart for a minute and switched over to the power supply before even burning in the unit.

I call BS: the one you say is better has less VACs (whatever THOSE are)! Unless a product has moar of all the numbers that are big, and less of all the numbers that are small, I don't want to buy it.
