Ah sorry I got the impression you were local (despite your location tag). Totally understandable ;)

That looks right, but I *do* have the memory of a goldfish.

Dress as pirates, wield plastic cutlasses.

Oh wait, with the stuff I've been reading about weirdo "clowns" hitting the streets there recently, probably not a good idea!

Of course, there will probably be half a dozen Utopias there, so we'll have no idea where to meet!

There's always a pub drink afterwards anyway

So how well could I expect to drive Utopia straight out of my little Mojo? :)

    Enough about your little mojo.

Hmm, well Utopia is a pretty sensitive headphone, so the dac/amp will shine through I suspect. Whether that's a good thing or not.... ;)

Mixed bag, it doesn't sound too bad for a portable thing- the timbre on strings and pianos is nice.. just highs can occasionally sound grainy. I have fallen in and out of love with it a few times, but as a purely mobile play, I'd say I'm happy with it. Clumpy headphones like the HD650 sound very insipid indeed, it just doesn't have the cojones to make them produce any bass.

Still, it's probably not for short-fingered vulgarians ;)

I shall try to bring a 1/4 inch to 3.5mm adaptor in case I get the chance.. it'd be pretty hilarious.

Worth a try. I'll bring along a few adapters as usual if you need to borrow one.

    @pedalhead @Muse Wanderer

It was a pleasure to meet you both today in real life! Sorry I could not say goodbye but I went down to check out the Tesla Model X and then I couldn't find you....

Great to spend some time with you chaps yesterday! What an excellent bunch of Geeks we are. @Rthomas sorry we missed you at the end, unfortunately I didn't have your mobile number so couldn't get in touch :-(

I'll post a few impressions in the appropriate thread when I'm at a proper keyboard, but for me the show was a pleasant surprise. Excellent venue, good selection of gear... Although a shame Sony weren't there with the Z1R as I'm quite keen to hear that one.

Honestly, shooting the breeze with fellow SBAFers made the show for me. We should do it again sometime!

It was great to meet you guys..
@pedalhead @Kattefjaes @Rthomas. It was such good fun sharing our impressions at each table.

We were the UK SBAF posse trying lots of good shhhit and great schiit.

I for one got stuck in a trance to the Utopia for half an hour as soon as I entered the venue!

At one point I became the Andro witness trying to convert SBAF sheep to our Andro cult! :D

After the show we had pint at a local pub sharing our audio memories and tribulations.

At the end of the day I headed to Knightsbridge to listen to live orchestral renditions of Mendelsohn, Schumann and Mozart. Needless to say that was the real audio highlight of my day!

I might head back to Indulgence today we'll see. So much stuff I haven't had time to hear especially speaker gear.

Ooh lucky you getting some live music in.. which venue?

My wife and I just headed to Covent Garden for a Shake Shack double burger... Mmmm, followed by a #15 bus for some sightseeing, and a late train home.

Your Andros were superb, so balanced. I can see what all the fuss is about.

Venue was St Paul's church just next to Hyde park. I like these sort of places as I can nudge my way to the front and enjoy the sound to the full. The highlight was Schumann's piano concerto and Mozart's Jupiter symphony... oh the final fugue was ecstatic.

I am glad you enjoyed the Andromedas. These were one of the best purchases I ever made.

Hope you had a good journey back home.

SBAF mugshot is ridiculous! I need to find a way to upload it somehow.

Today I couldn't resist to go back to the show, living half an hour away.

This time I managed to listen to all speaker systems for a change.

Then I took hold of the Utopia for 46 grand minutes!

Finally I spent the last hour venturing through the DAPs for the Andros. I'll try to post some impressions soon.

I'm in West London so down for a meet if not too far.

Anyone planning to attend the Hi-Fi News show near Heathrow at the end of the month?

I was at the Indulgence show on Friday so I missed you guys.

I really liked the Jotunheim but it's still too big for me: I want a non-modular, single-ended Jotun with external LPS in a Modi / Magni form factor.
The Utopia is really effortless but the price is just crazy Focal. The good thing is when they launch Utopia 2, the former will be fire-saled for much more reasonable coin.
The 1More triple driver was also very impressive for the money, little boosted bass but still has decent treble clarity and smoothness.
