Good point! But it's a good deal either way. $100 less retail, plus no tax!

All new Bifrosts USB comes standard but the old ones you had to pay extra for USB. He mentioned that he upgraded which means he may have not had a USB bifrost. If you want to add USB to this I believe you would have to spend another $100 to get it.

Probably ok if you are using a Mac since toslink is standard. Main problem that it's limited to 24/96.

In my experience, that's not a "problem" at all. Once you scale up higher, I think you'll see that you still haven't heard all that 16/44 has to offer.

Bottlehead mainline kit is $200 off through 11-1 for anyone looking for an excuse to do a little diy.

Argh I want it. I just stretched for Yggdrasil figuring if they discounted the mainline it would be a month from now on black Friday. Not an indicator that they're coming out with something new I wouldn't think.

Argh. Anyone looking for a jh16 or maybe a pair of kef q900 and a q600c in black? Lol

I don't even need it and it's absurdly hard not to pull the trigger on that.

How would you rate the level of difficulty for mainline? I have been wanting to build a crack for ages, but at this price I am tempted to go straight to the top. I probably have the soldering skills of a high school student (who hasn't soldered since high school), but I am not in a rush. Am I setting myself up for a fail? Or do you think it is possible if I take my time?

Seriously thinking about the AK jr at $379 shipped. Kinda fits my needs. Anyone who has it care to weigh in?

I've heard it. If you think your headphone is too thick-sounding (a la HD650), then I'd say... go for it.

Otherwise, I wouldn't recommend it for bright/thin headphones.
