GO2A/GO V2+ -> IEMatch -> Andromeda might be exactly what you're looking for.

I do recommend the go2a and v2+ but the v2+ directly from lh labs is a bit more expensive than what i mentioned before. Go2a you have to wait. youll have to get balanced cables to use both to their full potential so thats another pita thing you have to consider.

The single ended output still stomps the Mojo according to Marv so you should be fine without the cable. Is balanced better? Sure. Should the lack of a balanced cable keep you from buying one? No.

The ifi micro is mediocre. The AMR products are not very resolving.

The Balanced output on the GO V2+ sounds better, but problem is that the hiss got a lot worse on the andromedas. I guess I will try an IEMmatch. It still hisses from the zx2, but don't think its adviseable to put an iemmatch on it to raise its already high io of 1.5

The GOv2 sounds rather boring with the Andros (+ IEMatch). Been listening to that pairing all day, since my S/PDIF transport won't work today...

The bass is rather limp dick and it sounds soft overall. At least it's not harsh or anything (it never is with the GOv2).

Comparing Geek Out V2+ to Mojo, what do guys prefer here for Andromedas?

This isn't the GO2A or the V2+ right? I asked this question on the other thread to see if the andros were good with the IEMatch out of the GOV2+. The GO v2+ infinity SE sounds pretty good to me but I get what you mean. Everything feels a bit soft even on Balanced. Would call it even slightly lean compared to the sony zx2.

I know the majority will say the Geekout v2+. I also do agree. The leaner sounding Geekout v2+ may pair better as anything with less than 1 io is muffled and bassy. Most say the Chord Mojo with its io of almost 0 make it sound too bassy and muffled. I didn't really like the Mojo soundstage which is a bit narrow and fuzzy, and didn't care for the rolled off treble. People are adding resistors to the chain to brighten the sound, but it may change the frequency response of the andromeda. On Single ended there is very mild hiss, but if you intend to use balanced, you will have to get the IEMatch, as I find the hiss to be much louder.

That was before Marv heard the GO2A/GOV2+ platform.

With IEMatch the GOV2+ walks away from the Mojo easily with the Andromeda. Without, the near 0 output Z will appeal to @shotgunshane, but the 2.5 ohm output Z with the IEMatch or an inline resistor works wonders.

Some of the people in this thread need to tip roll. Spinfits, spiral dots, and complys all give me a wildly different presentation for these.

Yeah ended up making the switch, excited to try out this pairing! Getting better SQ while saving some money is a no-brainer in my book.

Got the ZX2 yesterday. This damn thing hisses a lot with the Andromeda...
I feel like I'm back with my old Samsung YP-P3 who hissed in full size headphones

Are you guys using the IEMatch with it? I'm probably better off with a DragonFly Red for my Tab S2 ...

The Andromeda doesn't have noticeable hiss with the ZX2 in my experience. When I first plug it in, yes, but afterwards no problem. Have you changed the settings (e.g., turned off all the extra sound adjustments)? Not sure if that may make a difference.

There's hiss as soon as I do something on the unit, be it simply unlocking the screen or browse music.
Seems like every time the CPU is active, basically.

The hiss from the ZX2 is from the amp turning on/off. When you first start playing a track, it will hiss as the amp section turns on. After a short time with no music playing, the amp section will turn off and hiss. It is normal. I didn't notice any hiss (while playing music) with the Andromedas when I demo'd them, and I don't notice it with the UERMs either.

I can hear that On/Off hiss thing with the IEMatch on High, still.
The problem is that without the IEMatch, it hisses constantly. Even when playing a song (can hear the hiss in quiet passages).

I think we might have similar tolerances for hiss. Do you have an iPhone? Can you test out the hiss on the iPhone + IEMatch? Thanks.

Yes.... the hiss is there. Even when not playing anything. You can hear it just by plugging it in and out. Youll realize the background is different. Tried using ifi iematch....which really changes the sound signature....you lose a lot of the magic in the sound and depth. I mainly use the zx2 when in the subway so i can't hear hiss because i hear other background noise. When I'm at home...it's quite disturbing. Bad engineering in the zx2 or the andromedas. I don't know. I really love the andromedas but i really don't know what Ken ball was listening to when he made the iems because they hiss from everything. For me it's a design flaw. Even the lowest powered devices it hisses so i wonder what it was played out of. The iematch works for the go v2+ and Mojo but using it for Sony isn't great.

Unfortunately the only flaws (hiss and extreme sensitivity to source) in an otherwise really really good product. I'e been burnt one too many times after heeding advice on another forum. Someone told me the Westone BT MMCX cable did not hiss much with the Andromedas - they turned out to be a snake. Many had commented that the DFR is perfect with the Andromedas, but I auditioned it to have more hiss than out of the iPhone 7's headphone adapter. I'm glad there are people here who actually relate to what I'm hearing and that I'm not crazy.
