@Syzygy psh, poisoning their impressionable minds so early with horrible media. Bad parent! (Kidding :))

@obsiCO I personally found that one bit where the son and dad were just talking to be preachy, but the Asian in me took it in stride TBH (happens often enough). It has some compelling points, but I'd say it does toe that line of being self-important. Humour was fucking bonkers good.

Hah, hardly poisoning! They watch "light" anime; we don't allow anything more (they're still young).

Me, I'm more of a Miyazaki kind of guy.

Hah, as expected of a good parent :)

Honestly, with the exception of Miyazaki, Hosoda, Shinkai, and a few others who make "classics", every anime I like almost always has to have trope or fanservice-related caveats tacked on, it sucks. Notable example, I love Grimgar but hesitate to talk about it for the creepy sexualisation.

I miss the days of Kino's Journey, Wolf's Rain, Ergo Proxy, Yugo the Negotiator, etc.
