In love with my restaured Sony TA-707ES. Even the HP output is amazing and compares well to anything out there SS wise id say.

I prefer my headhones via my Sony 707ES headphone output over my ifi Micro Ican. Time to explore speaker taps and speaker amps huh!?!?

  My HD600 from the headphone out of my Sony CDP-750 sounds so good I have postponed a stand-alone amplifier thus far. So yeah...

  I also prefer my 808ES' phone jack to the Magni 2 and Vali 2 for HD650 and HD800. The Sony seems to have more control over those phones, sound is more fluid and smoother, and more holographic. The Vali 2 is slightly better at detail retrieval tho.

  the 808es is almost identical to the 707es, happy to know how they compare to schiit amps!
  do you happen to know if the output section on the 707/808 are simply padded down by resistors or is there a headphone output stage?
