    From Beyerdynamic:

"In a marked departure from traditional beyerdynamic headphone design, the striking aesthetics of the re-newed DT 1350 make it stand out from the crowd, delivering a professional, timeless quality that is both attractive and rugged.

A combination of highly efficient ambient noise reduction and an impressive maximum sound pressure level (129 dB) make the DT 1350 an ideal compact over-ear headphone for audio engineers, broadcasters, musicians and DJ’s. Regardless of whether you are a sound engineer monitoring PA systems, a broadcast engineer monitoring recoreded sound, a live musician or a DJ, the DT 1350 delivers every time.

The Tesla drivers offer an enormous degree of efficiency with extremely low levels of distortion, allowing the DT 1350 to produce a perfectly balanced, analytical sound even at the highest volumes. The removable ear cushions, combined with a flexible split headband design ensure the headphones sit securely and remain comfortable even during prolonged periods of use. The swivelling ear cups (90°) also allow “single-ear” monitoring.

▲ Supraaural, lightweight and robust design, due to metall headbow
▲ 80 Ohms transducers with Tesla Technology for highest efficiency
    ▲ Excellent ambient noise attenuation
    ▲ Flexible split headband
    ▲ 90° swivelling earcups

I have a pair of these for the office. They do sound decent, however the seal and therefore sound is super inconsistent.

I haven't really seen these talked about on here much, but I got a broken pair and fixed it up to take on vacation because I had no portables
    was pretty surprised

Relatively good technicalities coming from my iPhone dongle, and pretty neutral to me (up until the highs)

Sounded a little outta sync sometimes, and there was definitely some weird shit going on in the highs, but it was pretty inoffensive weird shit that seemed to err more towards being sucked out than is typical of beyer

Main gripes were the embarrassing "mini" jack and the finicky seal, which can completely change their FR IME

Do you guys like these? Any pads that could make it easier to get the seal right or isolate better?

I had them a couple of years ago. Was just starting to get into better gear at the time. The clamp was really tight and hurt my ears (I wear glasses so they pressed my ears onto my frames). I tried the softer looking "nubuck leatherette" EDT 1350 N pads but they didn't help much and also caused the bass response to roll off drastically. I had to roll up tissue paper and tuck it into the gap inside the nubuck pads to give them the same inside profile as the stock pads and bring back the bass response. Sold them after I got my ZMF Blackwoods.

Here are some photos showing how to dismantle them in case you want to get inside to try some mods.

LOVED my 1350s when I had them. I believe most of the issues that people have with them are related to getting a proper seal. It can be very hard/tricky and I don't doubt that for some people it's downright impossible.

I only sold them out of curiosity to give the IEM world a shot. Portability is king.

I still miss them from time to time.

I miss their unactualized potential. I love the idea of them.

IEMs definitely have a YUGE advantage when it comes to interruptions

Somebody coming up to talk to me with the 1350s on is f'ing awful, knowing that I'll have to lose the seal for what's probably a simple yes/no question

Depends on the IEMs. ER4s are a pain to take out for a quick yes/no. And for me they both have to be put in at the same time otherwise L/R feel/sound different.

I didn't find the 1350s to be that fussy for seal, once you get used to where to position them on your ears. They had a habit of snagging hair easily though.

    HD25 ear pads.

A good DT1350 is a keeper. Quality control was not the best with this headphone...

Always wanted to find a good sounding pair of 1350's. One of the best looking and best built on ears I think. Anyone wanna set up a tour?

I think I got one of the good ones. No plans to ever get rid of them, best goddamn portable phones I've ever had. Isolation isn't quite on par with IEMs obviously, but they're not an option so DT1350 are the next best thing. They sound great, but I tend to boost the bass and the dip the treble a bit so I can listen a few db's louder when out and about. They really hug your head like a motherfucker though, a real ear killer after a few hours. The band can be stretched, but at the cost of isolation.

Mine were bought well used so the pads were broken in and I never had a problem with positioning and seal. I did try T51p pads on them as well, but that made the treble pretty unbearable. Possibly fixable by breaking the pads in, but couldn't be bothered with that.

I owned a pair for a year or so. Headphones themselves were not bad per se, but the fit was extremely finicky. I have a bad feeling that most of the QC issues actually are fit issues, because getting a good seal was a real challenge and FR changed a lot depending on ear placement. Every time I wore mine I pressed the capsules on my ears so the pads get a seal faster.

I love my DT1350 in spite of their flaws. Consider the T51 pads for something a touch "fluffier" They do get a bit fatiguing after a couple of hours, so I Imagine extra padding might help...

The trick for me is to slide the ear cups slightly back on the ear for the best seal (just 5 or 10mm). Mine are modded with a balanced cable for when I was under the allusion that portable amplification was king. But I'm still a firm believer that these babies benefit nicely with just a little extra juice.

All things considered these are probably the best portables that I own. IMO the sound quality is only bettered by the SINE, which I don't really use anymore due other issues with them.

I never had any problems with the seal, which other users have reported. In fact these just drop onto my head in exactly the right position, and the split headband is a godsend - once you've opened that headband these headphones are going nowhere. I've also not come across any other headphones that isolate as well as these - the HD25s are close in that respect, but the DT1350 is still king.

I love them to bits, and if they ever failed I would buy them again in a heartbeat.

I have a pair for well over a year and they arent perfect but what is? Tyll loved these when first reviewed over there. I was looking for a portable set and these were it at the time. I still really enjoy them, Use them with the Schitt Vahalla 2 on low gain setting anf the bass is really nice IMO..

I used to have a pair of these several years ago but ended up selling them.

Never had a problem with the sound. It was that my hair always got caught in the split headband mechanism.

What was broken and how did you fix it? I stepped on my pair and a plastic piece that attaches the headphones to the hinge broke on one side so the pressure fit no longer works.

Trying to figure out how to fix it without spending a fortune, and if I can just order a replacement piece.

I really like these, but I'm a neophyte. I ran a frequency sweep and the treble is definitely weird and doesn't match on each channel, but they didn't cost much and they do sound good from cheap sources. The bass seems punchy and clean and they seal pretty well so I used them at work a lot until I get 535 IEMs.

Use a Vahalla 2 on low gain setting and play some solid drum sequences...blew me away!
