I can't deal with peakiness unfortunately. I've always been intrigued by the JVCs but then am reminded by their lack of isolation in addition to the sonic issues SGS points out.

Oh okay skip it then, almost all japanese IEMs Ive ever encountered they are "commonly" shared the same characteristic which are bright and / or have some peakiness I must say.

Just got JVC FX850 and it is better than I expected. I heard quite a bit of negative feedback on FX850 (heavily v shaped, bloated bass and harsh treble that only suits basshead) so my expectation was low... And, after getting Andro, I was not sure if it is worth getting mid-fi IEM any longer. To my surprise, I do not find it harsh on treble or bass being bloated. Yes, bass quantity is huge but great timbre...And soundstage is surprisingly big.. Keen to try j444 mod on it to tame the bass a bit... At this stage, it is a keeper for me.

I've never heard them, I've thought about buying them a few times... Just never pulled the trigger. Being a basshead, I'd probably love them. That being said, I really don't need another basshead iem.

Seems like the new JVC FW01 is the most audiophile-tuned of the group. I may have to try that sometime.

That's what I've read as well.

I thought this sounded interesting if it was cheap. I found them new on ebay for $35 shipped (from Canada) and ordered them. Seller has one left.

I doubt they'll pair well with the ZX2 though, and that's my main source.

Nice! I missed out on the last one apparently. That's a steal for $35. I think normal price was around $120 or so when first released.

Just seems like it would be too dark on dark.

I haven't heard that specific JVC but the FX850, FX700 and FX500 woodies were never shy on treble. Definite V shaped with plenty of bright sparkly lower treble.

+1. I found that FX850 is not dark at all. It might less resolving comparing with Andro but quite V-shaped..

FX850 is almost like TH900 done right (bright not piercing, more present mids) lol, had i not have fit issues, i would have kept them. the recent models are a fair bit more laid back in the treble.

Have anyone tried the newer version from JVC? FW01? Is it better version of FX850?

It hasn't shipped yet. It's on backorder and I just learned fulfillment has been pushed out again until Feb 10. I ordered mid December...
