Enough rumble for me. It I prefer a more neutral/flatter bass presentation. It does roll off after 40hz but is still stronger in sub bass than the UERM and Ety. The bass switch seems to boost it pretty evenly. It's a very tasteful boost.

Unless you have small / weird shaped ears, these fit like a glove, so the benefit of custom will be less than for other universals in my opinion. They almost feel like a custom. You should try the universal first, if you don't like it you can resell easier.

It's the tips I have problems with. Silicone tips don't isolate well enough for my purposes, and the foamies either hurt my ear canals after a few hours from the slight pressure pushing against them, or are too small and let exterior sounds through. I recently got my first pair of custom ear plugs for concerts and it's been a revelation. I forget they're there.

I see. Then either get a KSE1500 with silicone custom top or a silicone custom, SE5 Ultimate being my favorite.

I had minor discomfort the first 2 days. No issues since. My average listening session is 45 minutes to 1.25 hours, usually twice a day during the week.

@shotgunshane For poorly isolating iems, do you have any recommendations for something neutralish but not too analytical/demanding? I'm thinking maybe the MDR-7550, but I haven't heard of a lot of others... Thank you!

@james444 might have some good low isolating suggestions, but I think the 7550 will isolate too mcuh. You'd want something with a larger vent. Even then, I remember missing office calls using the JVC woodies.

I saw your post in the general advice thread. I think the suggestion of the Koss KSC75 on ear is an excellent choice. Though I think they sound their best after changing pads and adding a headband (they just clip on the ear stock). I can give you links to the pads and headband if you decide to go this route. I can have a conversation with those on, whereas I couldn't with the JVC woodies.

The iSine would work too but I think they sound terrible (at least the 20 I heard does), and are expensive for what they are.

Question for Vega owners. I do not like foam tips, always try and use spiral dots. Do you guys find the Vega too harsh or strident with silicon? FOr comparision sake I have no problem with silicon on the it03 or andro.

Yes, several found it harsh and sibilant with silicone. I think CA recommends foam as well.

Any recommends on a high quality, natural and balanced sounding DD based iem that works well with silicon? Anyone like the Galaxy V2? How about Dorado, is it coherent? I love my IT03 but am ready to move into a TOTL offering that gives me more detail, seperation, layering, texture, etc.

I have a Galaxy v2 loaner on hand. Haven't yet had a chance for some quality listening but it's very bright if you can't get the right fit and it's not easy to get the right fit. More thoughts later.

Dorado is one of the most coherent hybrids I've heard. Its treble is smoother than Vega. It's bass is warmer than Vega with more mid bass, even if it's quantity is slightly less than Vega.

Great comparative description of the Dorado. However, I prefer the foamies with the Dorado as well. Cheers

Heard briefly the S-EM9 today, seems to be a warmer Andromeda in character with a pinch of weird colouration to the mids I couldn't really figure out. Don't really like it consequently. Wonder if anyone hears this the same way.

It is a warm iem with colored mids but I do like it. Find it engaging and easy, and quite refined at the same time.

Has anyone tried FLC8s? I am interested in getting this but not sure if it is worth to get since I am also expecting to receive Noble X soon. If I understood correctly, the Pros of FLC8s would be tuneable option to anyone's liking and has dynamic driver for lows. And, Noble X has download slopping sig with visceral bass and smooth high... Can I say FLC8s is can be more neutral so is more all rounder. Have I understood correctly?
