Offering up my much loved ZDS to, hopefully, an SBAF friend who will enjoy it as much as I have. Just a great headphone amplifier, and easily the best OTL I've ever heard. And let's not forget the flexibility it offers as a preamp as well!

    TUBES:
Included will my personal reference 6SL7 (a very specific Fivre variant - not all Fivre 6SL7s are alike) which is a touch sweet, but nimble and fast with an unbeatable holographic ZDS soundstage. I can also offer for sale at additional cost my #2 and #3 tubes: (2) Mullard ECC35 which is a warmer romantic sound, (3) Valvo 6SL7 - similar to the reference Fivre but a tad more neutal and intimate in soundstage. My 3a tube is already sold, and was the RCA red base.

Also, included will be my favorite rectifiers and a stash of the stock Russian rectifiers. My preferred rectifiers have a different plate structure and I've seen them branded as RCA, Zenith, and GE. I think I have RCAs and GEs. I'll toss them all in. And again, will toss in a quad of the Russian rectifiers as well. No additional cost there. You'll never need to purchase rectifiers.

    AMP:
I believe it's #92. It's about 18 months old and has never been serviced or modified in any way. Working great. As the original owner, I can work to transfer it in to your name with Judy at Eddie Current if you want to assume the remaining warranty coverage. You'd assume any cost for warranty transfer that EC might impose. Condition is easily 9/10. Any nitpick I have might be the rectifier tube pin sockets are a tad loose, which doesn't effect operation or performance in any way.

PRICE: $2000 net to me. Paypal accepted from friends at my discretion.
This amp is the all black version, which does cost extra. But that's not factored in to my price, which I believe is very fair either way.

    PICS:

    Pardon the dust!!

@brencho to the courtesy phone please!

Someone is going to be VERY happy with this amp. I heard her at the LA meet and she sounds brilliant.

Oh, and if this ends up getting shipped, then I do have all the original boxes and packaging material. So no worries there.

Someday. My dream amp. If this somehow doesn't go, I may be in a position to snag it in a couple months. So new owner -- keep me in mind, eh? Good luck with the sale!

Not gonna lie. I'm a little bummed you're selling (I understand why). You have been a great source of info about squeezing good sound out of the ZDS...

    Ditto!

For my money this would be my first choice of tube amps under $2k.

    Congrats to the lucky buyer.

Sold, and hand delivered to its new home. Even though time was short, I enjoyed listening to some new equipment. For me, the ZDS in to an Anthem Class A 300W (?) amp into modded HE6 was a winning combo....

Thank you so much for the amp and delivering it. I really like how it sounds. The power amp for the HE-6 is Anthem MCA20 (225 wpc in 8 ohms, the one under the Benchmark AHB2). Side note, the combo just killed the drivers on my HE-6. I'm not sure how since I've been running it with the Liquid Glass as preamp in the exact same way for quite a while. Turned on the preamp first before turning the power amp etc with volume knob on zero.

Bummer @Jozurr on the HE-6. I hate hearing this, and really thought the ZDS/Anthem/HE-6 chain was good while I was there. Not sure what happened after I left, and talked to Marvey about this too. Long story short, we can't figure a way for ZDS to be the culprit here. Marvey confirmed the pre out and headout are the same - both cap coupled, so no DC transients. In addition, it's soft start, and takes several seconds to come up to full power. So ... probably an unfortunate coincidence where the HE-6's days were already numbered. I guess there's a reason people keep spares of those. Nevertheless, to be safe, turn that amp on last and off first. And maybe even take a step further and plug the headphones in last and remove them first before powering down.

That's what I always did using the 4pin adapter to speaker taps I would disconnect the headphones before turning anything on or off. Is there an HD650 to enjoy the ZDS with at least?
