Thanks. I'll keep looking around. To be honest, I don't really know how much is "overboard" and how much is "affordable." If I'm spending ~$230 for these speakers, then is spending a similar amount for an amp to go with them considered reasonable?

Get a Topping amp for $100 and call it a day. Or maybe make an offer on this: link (I used to have one; I'd rank it above the Toppings)

Don't get anything by Behringer that's power related. Maybe consider a Crown D-75 (not the 'a' version) or D-45 if you want to go with some pro stuff, but I imagine you'd want something more compact.

If going super cheap, don't get the Lepai. At least get an SMSL or something like that.

@Armaegis - Is there a reason you left out the Crown D-60? Just curious.

Going by fuzzy memory, I think the D-60 was an older model... so the chances of getting a lemon or one needing new caps is higher.

A couple years ago there was a big flood of D-45's and 75's into the market, which brought their prices down substantially*. I was seeing D-75's go for $50-60 which was a great value for them. If they can still be found for sub-100, I'd say it's a good buy if you're looking for a 1U amp (there are very few options in this category to begin with).

*from my understanding, a movie theatre chain replaced/upgraded their gear which is where the flood of amps came from

Look for a used crown x1000 for $150 or less. I found it a great pairing.

What about the JLH 69? Would it be a good choice here?

Efficiency might be an issue. My OSMT's + JLH69 definitely can run out of steam, even in a small room. I suspect the OSMT's are not that far off of the Affordable Accurate monitor's power requirements.

    No. Not nearly enough headroom.

A friend is thinking of buying a pair of these. Would a class A/B JVC receiver 100 watts @ 8 ohms have enough headroom? His listening position would be about 10 feet away in small T.V. room.

Dennis recommended me a 120w amp for BMR’s with the same sensitivity, so it should be fine.
